De acordo com estudos, a população infantil é considerada um grupo vulnerável a contaminação por doenças parasitárias devido à imaturidade do sistema imunológico e práticas inadequadas de higiene. Portanto crianças em faixa etárias menores, após a contaminação são mais susceptíveis ao desenvolvimento de sintomas graves, podendo ocorrer à redução dos níveis de ferro ingerido na dieta, ocasionando enfermidade como anemia, caracterizada a baixa da hemoglobina. De acordo com a Organização mundial de Saúde (OMS), a anemia é descrita como uma situação em que ocorre a redução no número da hemoglobina no sangue, considerada abaixo dos valores padrões para idade, sexo e estado fisiológico do indivíduo, sendo estes inferiores a 11,5g/dL para crianças. No Distrito Federal, apesar da deficiência de informação à respeito do assunto, entende-se que os problemas com enteroparasitas são agravados em regiões onde as condições socioeconômicas são carentes. As morbidades estão interligadas, como a falta de conhecimento acerca das profilaxias assim como o saneamento básico e com infraestrutura na rede de drenagem urbana deficitária. Ao desenvolver um estudo epidemiológico quanto as parasitoses na região do Distrito Federal, o objetivo é verificar a imunocompetência das crianças atendidas, aquelas que se encontram acometidas associando as doenças parasitárias que estão presentes no quadro de enfermidades negligenciadas, instaurando possíveis métodos de prevenção em consonância como a conscientização populacional a respeito das possíveis doenças contidos nos prontuários para verificação da imunocompetência das crianças/adolescentes atendidas, para um estudo retrospectivo de anemias em crianças parasitadas por meio do hemograma.
