The implementation of CSR programs of Tiaka refinery is based on financial, goods assistance, and several empowerment programs. However, the community’s response is negative. The community’s disappointment and dissatisfaction are accompanied by threats to the Tiaka refinery. This study uses a case study approach on Kolo Bawah, Baturube, and Tanasumpu to understand PT. Joint Operation Body (JOB) Pertamina Medco Tomori Sulawesi impacts on the loss of livelihood of the Bajo ethnic community in Kolo Bawah. The results show that the Bajo communities in Kolo Bawah are excluded from their living and cultural space because of the refinery. CSR activities and community empowerment are unable to reduce the economic and social burden of Bajo communities. CSR activities are not transparent, partial, and not accompanied by a needs assessment. CSR/CD activities remain as a source of mutual suspicion between regions, community and ethnic groups.
The tourism sector fosters social change, including the emergence of friction of interests that leads to land / space conflicts. This research aims to explain: (1) Kaluku Beach tourism object as a realm of struggle for economic capital; (2) failure of economic capital management and lack of village leadership authority impacted massively barrier in tourism sector. Research results show that Kaluku beach tourism area is a field of conflict interest in terms of economic capital, leads to worst impact on tourism object management, low rates visiting. The absence of spatial planning and lack of village leadership authority caused conflict vulnerability, requires symbolic capital influence from village leader as dispute resolution. Suggestion for village leaders that they take consideration spatial planning in urgent, utilization of local resources and push social readiness towards social changes.Key words: Kaluku beach tourism, Land dispute, symbolic capital
The aims of this study were 1) to find out about the migration process of the Bugis ethnic group to Palu City, to explain the driving factors in the area of origin of South Sulawesi, the pull factors in the destination area of Palu City as well as the inhibiting factors and barriers to migrating to Palu City. 2) Knowing about social interactions and socio-cultural adaptations of the Bugis ethnic in Palu City. The method used is a qualitative approach involving 8 informants. The results showed that: Migration of the Bugis Ethnic to Palu City was motivated by economic factors due to limited job opportunities and increasingly competitive life along with population growth in the area of origin of South Sulawesi. The factor of "siri" cultural values, past conflicts and political upheavals also contributed to the migration of the Bugis Ethnic to Palu City. The swift flow of migration of the Bugis Ethnic to Palu City has an impact on social relations, both associative and dissociative which automatically forces Bugis migrants to be more adaptive to the surrounding social environment, therefore, the cultural values possessed by the Bugis Ethnic are internalized in his life is expected to become a social glue in social interaction in the overseas area of Palu City.
