Prevalence of ARAS among the patients in routine cardiac catheterization was 5.7 %. Hypertension is closely associated with significant ARAS. Significant CAD in the form of triple-vessel disease and altered renal function tests are closely associated with ARAS. They predict the presence of significant renal artery stenosis in patients undergoing routine peripheral and coronary angiography. Moreover, hypertension and altered renal functions predict bilateral ARAS.
INTRODCUTION:Cardiovascular diseases account for serious health issues, which results in loss of quality of life andhigh mortality and morbidity. Cardiovascular disease risk in India is greater than US and Europe. Among various causative factors, Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is one of the most prevalent metabolic diseases associated with increasedrisk for CAD. METHODOLOGY:In this study, we assess the clinical and demographic parameters along with hsCRP levels between the group of participants with 1) T2DM 2) T2DM with CAD compared with healthy controls. All participants were subjected to basic clinical laboratory test like Blood pressures (systolic and diastolic), lipid profile, HbA1c level (glycosylated hemoglobin), FBS and PPBS. Additionally, the enzyme-linked immune absorbent assay was used to determine the levels of serum hs-CRP in all the participants recruited for this study.RESULTS: Analysis of clinical characteristics showed significant association of lipid, HbA1c, and hsCRP levels in the participants with T2DM with CAD contributing towards cardiovascular disease. Particularly, the level of hsCRP along with HbA1c maycontribute detecting early CVD event in participants with type 2 diabetic mellitus. CONCLUSION:Overall, our study provides significant contribution in predication of early CVD event in T2DM Murugesan et al (2020): Cardiac biomarkers in type II diabetic patients
Introduction:The aim of the study is to analyze the correlation between speckle tracking echocardiography and coronary angiography in patients with angina pectorisSpeckle tracking echocardiography is an advanced technique used to assess regional wall motion abnormalities and LV function in patient with coronary artery disease. Methods: 2D speckle tracking was measured from three standard views (Apical four chamber, two chamber and three chamber views). CAG was done for these patients and their angiographic findings were correlated with speckle tracking echo abnormalities. Assessment of regional wall motion abnormalities and LV dysfunction by using Global Longitudinal strain echocardiography in patients with angina pectoris prior to CAG subjects facilitates to early diagnosis and treatment.Patients with angina pectoris might have reduced GLS, reduced EF by strain imaging using speckle tracking but in 2D echocardiography it showed preserved LV function.Result:A strong correlation between speckle tracking echocardiography and coronary artery disease in patients with angina pectoris was observed .Patients with angina pectoris that had coronary artery disease have significantly decreased Global longitudinal strain values. Conclusion: Therefore it reveals that strain Chollalingam et al (2020): Correlation between speckling tracking ECG and CAG in angina pectoris
INTRODUCTION:To assess the elevation of B-type natriuretic peptide among angiographic findings with patient of unstable angina and non-ST elevated myocardial infarction. METHODS: This study population around 72 was carried out between 2018-2019 on patients who underwent coronary angiogram in Chettinad Super Specialty Hospital, Kelambakkam. RESULTS: Thousand coronary angiograms were performed in Chettinad hospital during theperiod of 2018-2019. There was totally 72 patients showed elevation of BNP. (47%) had BNP <80pg/ml and (52%)had BNP>80pg/ml. Elevation of BNP levels were affected in the age group of 50 to 60 yrs. Diabetic mellitus (17%)was most common risk factors affecting the B-type natriuretic peptide levels followed by hypertension(25%). Among study population Non-ST elevated MI (66%) is higher when compared with an unstable angina (33%). Among the study population mostly patients were affected single vessel disease (45%) and the culprit artery was LAD (27%) among patients with BNP>80pg/ml. CONCLUSION: Among 1000 patients who underwent coronary angiogram in Chettinad Hospital, the occurrence of elevation of BNP levels was 72. Most of the patients' were males (63%), associate with diabetic mellitus (17%). Majority of patient have single vessel disease (45%) and the culprit artery is LAD (Left
