Este estudo é um recorte de uma pesquisa do tipo estudo de caso, desenvolvida em uma universidade pública situada no estado da Bahia, Nordeste do Brasil. Teve por objetivo, analisar como a mobilidade discente tem influenciado os processos de evasão dos cursos de graduação dessa instituição. A compreensão das causas envolvidas no processo de mobilidade que levam os discentes a migrarem dos cursos e os impactos desse fenômeno para a instituição de ensino foram estudados a partir da análise do contexto local e das políticas de expansão do ensino superior no século XXI, à luz das concepções de diferentes teóricos e de censos divulgados pelo MEC. Os resultados da pesquisa apontam que o processo de mobilidade discente no ensino superior foi impulsionado pela expansão de oferta de vagas nas últimas duas décadas, que os cursos das áreas de engenharias e ciências médicas foram os mais procurados pelos estudantes que migraram da universidade analisada e que esta não dispõe de condições financeiras, estruturais e programas consolidados para conter a evasão e a desistência, especialmente nos cursos de licenciaturas, por serem processos complexos e motivados por diversos fatores.
Refletir sobre formação de professores-pesquisadores nos permite também (re)conhecer, (re)construir e compartilhar os nossos lugares existenciais a partir do que acreditamos para uma educação de qualidade e com princípios democráticos. Nessa discussão, trazemos para somar, os processos de construção e atualização dos currículos educacionais que lidamos, nos possibilitando ainda questionarmos os saberes a serem ensinados/estudados e as práticas que desenvolvemos cotidianamente no nosso labor docente. No “coração” dessas discussões, os aspectos locais, a cultura de uma região, as suas identidades e as características educacionais, históricas, geográficas entre outras, devem ser atendidas em 40% dos currículos para além dos 60% já preconizados pela Base Nacional Comum Curricular (BNCC).
Resumo: Observa-se, atualmente, certa regressão das políticas públicas para formação docente e enfraquecimento das Licenciaturas nas Universidades. Nesta perspectiva, o presente trabalho objetiva analisar como a baixa demanda e a evasão nos cursos de Licenciaturas do Departamento de Ciências Humanas da Universidade do Estado da Bahia -Campus IX, localizado na cidade de Barreiras, no extremo oeste baiano, pode interferir na disponibilidade e na qualificação de profissionais para atuar nesta região. Trata-se de um estudo do tipo quantitativo, realizado a partir de análise documental e entrevista. Os resultados apontam não só para desvalorização da profissão docente com a migração de estudantes para cursos de Bacharelado, assim como para a implementação de ações internas e externas nos âmbitos administrativo e pedagógico. Palavras-chave: Licenciatura; evasão; Docente. Abstract:There is now a certain regression of public policies for teacher education and weakening of undergraduate degrees in universities. In this perspective, the present study aims to analyze how low demand and avoidance in the undergraduate courses of the Department of Human Sciences of the State University of Bahia -Campus IX, located in the city of Barreiras, in the extreme west of Bahia, may interfere with availability and qualification professionals to work in this region. This is a quantitative study, based on documentary analysis and interview. The results point to the devaluation of the teaching profession with the migration of students to Bachelor courses, as well as the implementation of internal and external actions in the administrative and pedagogical spheres.
