Objetivou identificar a concepção da equipe de odontologia da Atenção Primária em Saúde (APS) quanto às precauções padrão (PP), os obstáculos para seu uso e a segurança do local de trabalho. Estudo exploratório-descritivo, com abordagem quantitativa, realizado com 70,27% da equipe de odontologia da APS de município paulista, utilizando-se Escalas de Fatores Psicossociais e Organizacionais que Influenciam a Adesão às Precauções-Padrão. Os domínios da escala obtiveram escores intermediários e o valor geral do Coeficiente Alfa de Cronbach foi aceitável. No domínio “Clima de Segurança”, os profissionais destacaram fragilidades diante dos riscos ocupacionais, consideram o acúmulo de atividades e a falta de tempo obstáculos para a adesão às PP, além de reconhecerem a importância da educação continuada sobre a temática. Conclui-se que essa realidade compromete a prática clínica e a segurança, do profissional e do usuário, sendo necessária ampliação das discussões sobre biossegurança tanto na formação como no ambiente de trabalho.
Objective: to describe the knowledge of nurses on Health-Care Waste Management (HCW) in Family Health Units (FHU) of São Carlos city, São Paulo State. Method: exploratory, descriptive and quantitative approach. The research was carried out with nurses of 16 FHU of the municipality of São Carlos-SP. Data were collected through an interview using a tool validated and analyzed using descriptive statistics. Results: it is noteworthy that 68.7% (11) of the nurses did not know how to describe how chemical waste was sorted. In addition, regarding the treatment of HCW, 50.0% (8) of the nurses did not know if the general waste were subjected to some type of treatment. Conclusion: the HCW management can be considered a challenge in the nurses' agenda inserted in the Primary Care services, which refers to the need to implement periodic training on the management of this waste.
RESUMO Objetivo: caracterizar quanto à estrutura, os locais de processamento de produtos para a saúde de todas as 29 unidades da atenção primária à saúde de um município do interior paulista. Método: trata-se de um estudo descritivo-de abordagem quantitativa realizada em 2012, com aplicação de indicadores de estrutura para a atenção primária. Resultados: identificou-se baixa conformidade da estrutura (inferior a 75%), particularmente por ausência de espaço exclusivo ou fluxo adequado para processamento, de registros de normas e rotinas e de manutenção preventiva de equipamentos, além do uso de invólucros não recomendados. Todos os profissionais envolvidos possuíam formação adequada para a atividade. Conclusão: a estrutura física destinada ao processamento de produtos para saúde na área do estudo está aquém do recomendado, e o uso de indicadores validados e específicos, possibilitou a mensuração dos resultados. Objetivo: avaliar o conhecimento da equipe de saúde bucal sobre o processamento de produtos para a saúde na Atenção Primária à Saúde. Material e Métodos: estudo exploratório-descritivo de abordagem quantitativa, realizado por meio da aplicação de um questionário estruturado. Dos 74 profissionais de saúde bucal alocados nas unidades, 43 participaram da pesquisa, sendo 22 auxiliares de saúde bucal e 21 odontólogos. Resultados: identificou-se que há lacunas no conhecimento da equipe quanto ao processo de esterilização (particularmente no que se refere aos recursos materiais) bem como o uso de indicadores para o monitoramento do processo. O uso de papel Kraft para embalagens foi apontado como correto por 37,2% (16) dos entrevistados. A ausência de informações impressas disponíveis nas unidades foi apontada por 81,3% (35) dos profissionais. Conclusão: as deficiências de conhecimento sobre processamento de produtos para a saúde apontadas podem comprometer a qualidade do processamento de produtos à saúde e contribuir para o aumento do risco de infecções relacionadas à assistência à saúde.
