Abstract: This work aims to present a documentary research through thematic content analysis, regarding the different categories of curriculum and methodologies that underlie / base the teaching of botany in Brazil. As well as discuss some of the methodologies found in papers published in the teaching session, in the annals of the Brazilian Congress of Botany, promoted by the Brazilian Society of Botanical between the years 2004 to 2013, namely: Ecological Trail, practical activities, teaching Botany interdisciplinary, educational games, practices, field classes, glossary, visual resources, training courses, textbook, textbooks and models, herbal, interpretive trails, questionnaires, social networks, digital atlas, school gardens, teaching garden, ethnobotany, musical parodies. In order to understand the processes of teaching botany in relation to theories of curriculum, classify the work in traditional character (60: 106), critical (28: 106) and post-critical (18: 106). The analysis allowed us to recognize strategies of training teachers and teaching science and biology, to the botanical content. The diversity of work leads us to questions by checking that there is much discussion curriculum, methods of teaching,
Tropical Bovine Theileriosis is an important tick-borne disease. This study aims to assess the occurrence of Theileria annulata infection in two indigenous Portuguese cattle breeds. A total of 843 blood samples collected from animals of Alentejana (n = 420) and Mertolenga (n = 423) breeds were analyzed. The detection of Theileria annulata was determined by amplification of a fragment of the merozoite-pyroplasm surface antigen gene with 319 base pairs (bp). The prevalence found (10.8%) is lower than that reported in previous studies (21.3%). A statistically significant difference was found for positivity between breeds (p < 0.05). There is also a higher probability of older animals being positive compared to younger ones (p < 0.05). The region where Mertolenga animals are located is shown to have a significant impact on positivity (p < 0.05). Thus, the development of sustainable T. annulata control strategies and their implementation, adapted to the epidemiological conditions of higher risk, will be extremely important.
