allan n. schore 2 El psicoanálisis, la ciencia de los procesos inconscientes, recientemente ha pasado por una transformación significativa. la psicología del self, que deriva del trabajo de heinz Kohut, tal vez representa la revisión más importante de la teoría de freud en la medida en la que ésta ha modificado sus conceptos nucleares básicos desde un inconsciente intrapsíquico hacia un inconsciente relacional y desde un yo cognitivo hacia un self que procesa emociones. como resultado de un interés común en los esenciales procesos afectivos rápidos de base corporal que yacen debajo de la conciencia, en la actualidad está teniendo lugar un diálogo productivo entre psicoanálisis y neurociencias. aquí aplico esta perspectiva interdisciplinaria a una comprensión más profunda de los mecanismos cerebro/ mente/cuerpo no conscientes que se encuentran en el corazón de la psicología del self. ofrezco una concepción neuropsicoanalítica del desarrollo y la estructuralización del self, focalizando en la maduración dependiente de la experiencia del cerebro derecho procesador de emociones en la infancia. a continuación, articulo un modelo interdisciplinario del trauma de apego y la disociación patológica, una defensa de formación temprana frente a afectos abrumadores que es una característica cardinal de las psicopatologías del self. concluyo con algunas reflexiones sobre el mecanismo del proceso psicoterapéutico de cambio y sugiero que la psicología del self es, en esencia, una psicología de las funciones particulares del cerebro derecho y que estamos frente a un re-acercamiento entre psicoanálisis y neurociencias. 1 Publicado originalmente con el título "Relational trauma and the developing right brain: An interface of psychoanalytic self psychology and neuroscience" (2009) en Self and Systems: Annual of the New York Academy of Sciences, 1159, 189-203.
