No presente artigo, empenhamo-nos em analisar a realidade e as possibilidades no ensino de uma prática experimental em termometria utilizando inovação tecnológica de baixo custo, aplicada em duas turmas de ensino médio de escolas públicas da cidade de Bragança, Pará, Brasil. Apoiados em teóricos da área de ensino de física, em documentos oficiais da educação e no uso de um Arduino como aparato tecnológico inovador, buscamos elementos para fundamentar a proposta didática. Para atingir o foco da pesquisa, utilizamos as bases da abordagem qualitativa da pesquisa, na qual buscamos identificar duas dimensões, a realidade e as possibilidades, de acordo com a dialética do materialismo histórico, proposto por Cheptulin (2004). Os dados foram coletados a partir da aplicação de um questionário contendo perguntas abertas e fechadas para o relato de vivências e concepções dos alunos. Do material empírico analisado, identificamos informações sobre a reflexão da realidade vivenciada pelos alunos em aulas de física, bem como motivações para aprendizagem e perspectivas para a prática a ser aplicada em contexto real. Os dados possuem potencialidades para reaplicação da proposta, associação de teoria à prática, afirmando, portanto, o uso de recursos tecnológicos como ferramenta para dinamização das aulas de Física.
