Reflecciones sobre el concepto de Lugar y su influencia en el proceso proyectual arquitectónico, se hace un barrido amplio sobre sus características más influyentes en un proyecto que se incerte en un lugar.
Para la asignatura optativa “Introducción al diseño bioambiental” del curso de Arquitectura de la Facultad de Arquitectura, Diseño y Urbanismo de la Universidad de Buenos Aires (FADU, UBA), el objetivo fue diseñar una Unidad Básica de Salud a pequeña escala para abastecer a la población local del lugar y cuya intervención y diseño deben guiarse por criterios bioclimáticos, teniendo en cuenta las condiciones climáticas, geográficas y culturales del lugar.
Este trabajo presenta los avances del proyecto de tesis doctoral cuyo principal problema a resolver es la habitabilidad en los espacios públicos del Área Metropolitana de Buenos Aires, caracterizada por un crecimiento suburbano fragmentado y disperso, con densificaciones focalizadas que afectan la calidad de estos espacios. En la búsqueda del equilibrio entre la compacidad y la dispersión, el objetivo es proporcionar herramientas para evaluar y guiar la interacción entre las variables del entorno urbano y la habitabilidad del espacio público. La hipótesis plantea la necesidad de integrar variables de forma, materialidad y funcionalidad en un índice que guíe el crecimiento equilibrado de la ciudad en relación con condiciones ambientales específicas. La metodología identifica, evalúa y compara espacios públicos en diferentes tipologías de crecimiento urbano, probando el índice desarrollado. Permite la observación y calificación de la habitabilidad en ciudades existentes y en condiciones de crecimiento potencial, contribuyendo con las futuras regulaciones de planificación.
RESUMENEl reciente proceso de crecimiento urbano del Área Metropolitana de Buenos Aires, es predominantemente extensivo, con una descontrolada ocupación del territorio, en el segundo y tercer cordon y con focos de densificación en las áreas centrales del primer cordón, donde edificios en altura ocupan los terrenos vacantes, sin los marcos normativos para una planificación sustentable. En base a un marco teórico diverso, esta ponencia presenta la evolución del crecimiento urbano en un municipio del primer cordón y el proceso metodológico empleado para identificar las conformaciones urbanas predominantes y los espacios públicos que las caracterizan. Este proceso permitió comprobar que la fisonomía de los espacios públicos no responde tanto a la forma de crecimiento en sí, sino a la superposición de ésta con las variables de densidades, usos del suelo y tipologías edilicias que le impone la normativa, permitiendo identificar mas claramente las unidades de análisis mas representativas del área.
