O reconhecimento da língua brasileira de sinais (Libras) como a língua oficial da pessoa surda a partir do Decreto n. 5626/2005 representou um grande avanço na inclusão dos alunos surdos no contexto escolar. As discussões acerca do incremento da educação especial, no que se refere à adaptação das escolas para atender satisfatoriamente os alunos com necessidades educacionais especiais (NEE), vem ganhando força nas últimas décadas. Diante disso, o presente trabalho tem como objetivo analisar a prática docente no ensino de Língua Inglesa para alunos surdos, nas escolas de ensino médio, no município de Caxias-MA. A pesquisa é de natureza básica, de abordagem metodológica quanti-qualitativa, por meio bibliográfico e de campo. No que se refere à população, a pesquisa de campo foi realizada com docentes da disciplina de língua inglesa, intérpretes de Libras e alunos surdos no segundo semestre de 2019. Como resultado, percebeu-se que com a utilização de Scaffoldings, que possibilita ao aluno realizar uma tarefa, a aplicação da Zona Proximal de Desenvolvimento (ZPD) para desenvolver as habilidades cognitivas dos alunos, e o uso de metodologias adaptadas e de estratégias para o ensino torna-se possível o ensino da língua inglesa para alunos surdos.
