Introdução: A obesidade afeta o desempenho funcional das pessoas significantemente, sendo mais prejudicial para pessoas com disfunções musculares e/ou neurológicas. Objetivo: Correlacionar a massa de gordura corporal e força muscular, pressões respiratórias máximas e função em indivíduos com DMD. Métodos: Selecionaram-se 68 sujeitos com DMD. A força muscular foi avaliada por meio de testes manuais, as pressões respiratórias máximas, por meio do manuvacuômetro e o teste de Vignos colhido por observação. A massa de gordura corporal foi avaliada pela bioimpedância, sendo coletado também o IMC. Efetuou-se análise estatística descritiva e construção de modelos de regressão. Realizou-se análise descritiva dos dados e os sujeitos foram divididos em quartis de idade. Resultados: Houve correlação significativa entre os valores dependentes e porcentagem de gordura e a idade. Conclusão: Com base neste estudo, concluiu-se que existe correlação entre a porcentagem de gordura e a força muscular, pressões respiratórias e função em sujeitos com DMD.
