RESUMO O objetivo deste artigo é aplicar os conceitos da Linguística para evidenciar uma compreensão epistemológica de textos de divulgação da ciência. Como fundamentação teórica, utilizaram-se conceitos da referenciação, tais como linguagem comum e científica, e a ideia de negociação entre leitor e autor. O corpus de estudo são dois artigos da revista Ciência Hoje do Ano Internacional da Química escritos por cientistas. Os resultados obtidos confirmaram a hipótese inicial de que existem marcas no texto que podem ser compreendidas como uma negociação entre o senso comum e o conhecimento científico.
O objetivo deste estudo é mostrar como o produtor textual organiza, em artigos de divulgação científica para crianças da revista Ciência Hoje das Crianças (CHC), a passagem do senso comum para o saber científico. Para isso, estudam-se, tendo por base a Linguística Textual e a Semiolinguística, o título e os parágrafos iniciais dos artigos, observando como acontecem a instalação do tópico discursivo, a construção de objetos de discurso e a orientação argumentativa. A análise linguística proposta é iluminada pelos princípios da Epistemologia da Ciência, de Bachelard, que orientam o produtor-divulgador da ciência. Observa-se que o texto se organiza de forma a desencadear um processo de orientação argumentativa que parte de um saber comum à instalação do saber científico, base do fim discursivo de incitação ao fazer, comum aos artigos do corpus. Na perspectiva da Semiolinguística, trata-se da indicação de uma lacuna existente, seja de ação, seja de conhecimento, seguida de informações que permitem o preenchimento do espaço vazio.
RESUMO: Embora o aprendizado de ciências costume estar relacionado ao ambiente escolar, existem outras instituições que proporcionam acesso ao conhecimento científico, como os hospitais. Com base nesse pressuposto, realizou-se um estudo no Hospital das Clínicas da Faculdade de Medicina de São Paulo para levantar as possibilidades da divulgação científica sobre um tema pouco conhecido, as diferenças no desenvolvimento sexual (DDS). Com o objetivo de descrever a apropriação do conhecimento pelos pacientes, foram utilizadas as categorias epistemológicas de Bachelard. Os resultados preliminares obtidos a partir de entrevistas semiestruturadas com pacientes indicados pelo corpo clínico mostram que o modelo epistemológico adotado contribui de duas maneiras para a pesquisa: ao auxiliar na elaboração de texto e figuras em folhetos, guias para pais e livros de divulgação da ciência; e ao descrever o processo de aprendizagem que ocorre no hospital como etapas distintas de aquisição do conhecimento científico.
