RESUMEPlusieurs plantes côtières du Gabon présentent une pathologie atypique caractérisée par la pourriture et les anomalies de germination des graines cultivées. Ces troubles, conduisent à la mort prématurée des organes, ou à la réduction de leurs rendements. Afin de déterminer si cette affection était liée à l'effet du NaCl marin, des tests de toxicité saline ont été réalisés sur des graines de maïs blanc (Zea mays L., Poaceae). Les paramètres morphométriques étudiés étaient : la germination des graines, la croissance longitudinale et radiale des tiges, et la production de matière sèche. Les résultats ont révélé que des concentrations salines de 1 g/l induisaient des augmentations significatives des taux de germination (18%), des croissances longitudinales (20%) et diamétrales (18%) ainsi que ceux de la biomasse végétale (22%). Ces hausses sont certainement liées à une fertilisation du milieu par les ions constitutifs (Na + et Cl -) de ce sel. Les concentrations égales ou supérieures à 2 g/l de NaCl ont en revanche provoqué des réductions significatives de tous les paramètres morphologiques étudiés, avec des seuils critiques à 5 g/l. Ce qui laisse suggérer que les troubles analogues rencontrés sur les plantes côtières sont causés par ce sel.
RESUMELa conservation des fruits, particulièrement celle des aubergines, est difficile au Gabon, par manque de techniques d'entreposage appropriées. Les rares procédés utilisés sont coûteux et peu accessibles à la majeure partie de la population. La présente étude a été proposée pour tester l'efficacité de quelques méthodes simples susceptibles de servir d'alternative. Ce sont : les traitements des aubergines à la poudre des cendres et aux solutions de GA-3, de NaCl et d'huile d'arachide. Les paramètres de conservation étudiés étaient : la durée de stockage, les pertes de masse, de dureté et d'intégrité des organes. Les résultats ont montré que les traitements à l'huile d'arachide produisaient les meilleures conditions de conservation, avec des rallongements significatifs de durée de +18 jours, et des atténuations des pertes de masse, de dureté et d'intégrité. L'usage de cette technique peut donc être conseillé comme méthode de conservation valable des fruits d'aubergine.
RESUMELes quantités de roselle (Hibiscus sabdariffa L. var. sabdariffa) produites au Gabon ne sont pas suffisantes pour satisfaire la demande locale. Pour augmenter les productions de cette plante, un essai d'intensification des rendements a été réalisé en utilisant de l'eau oxygénée (H 2 O 2 ). Les graines de roselle ont pour cela été traitées par trempage pendant 48 h dans différentes concentrations de ce composé, puis cultivées en serre. Les résultats obtenus ont montré qu'aux concentrations comprises entre 0,02 M et 0,1 M l'eau oxygénée réduisait tous les paramètres morphométriques mesurés, à savoir : la germination des graines, les croissances longitudinale et tangentielle des tiges et les surfaces foliaires des plantes. Aux faibles concentrations de 0,01 M, ce composé a toutefois provoqué une légère et non significative stimulation des paramètres étudiés. Dans les gammes de concentrations utilisées, l'eau oxygénée n'est donc pas recommandable pour l'amélioration des productions de roselle au Gabon.
L'épinard est une plante potagère de forte consommation au Gabon, en raison de sa grande richesse nutritionnelle, et de ses nombreuses vertus médicinales. La présente étude a été proposée pour améliorer la production de ce légume afin de la rendre permanemment disponible sur le marché local. Les graines de l'épinard ont pour cela été prétraitées par immersion pendant 24 h dans 3 solutions de piment de concentrations respectives 5% (T5%), 25% (T25%) et 50% (T50%), puis mises en culture sous serre. Les paramètres de croissance mesurés étaient la germination des graines, les croissances longitudinale et diamétrale des tiges, les surfaces foliaires et le pouvoir phylotaxique des plantes. Les résultats obtenus ont révélé que seul le traitement T5% induisait l'augmentation des 5 paramètres morphométriques évalués. Les deux autres traitements ont plutôt baissé ces valeurs, proportionnellement à leurs concentrations en piment. L'usage des solutions de piment peut donc être envisagé dans l'amélioration des productions de l'épinard au Gabon.
