The aim of this research is to know the influence of field trip on scientific literacy and attitude towards science of senior high school students before and after the field trip implemetation in ecosystem learning. The research was conducted in SMAN I Pangalengan. The method which was used in this research is Quasi Experimental with Nonequivalent Control Group Design as the design. The result shows that there are significant difference in scientific literacy between the control class where discussion was applied and the experimental class where field trip was applied, with t = 0.003 and α = 0.05. The result also shows that there is a significant attitude between the control and experimental class, with t = 0.003 and α = 0.05. Those results show that field trip gives significant effect on high school student's scientific literacy and attitude towards science in ecosystem concept.
This research aims to analyze the development of Guided inquiry-based cladistic worksheet websites in high schools through that website that has already been developed. The research subjects were 36 students of class X at one of the high schools in Bandung. The research was used by using the experimental method. Students were given Guided inquiry-based cladistic worksheet websites. The instrument used was a Guided inquiry-based cladistic worksheet website, a Feasibility Test by expert lecturers, and a critical thinking test. Critical thinking skill use indicators are Simple Explanation, Conclude, Strategy and Tactics, Building basic skills, Make further explanations. The data were analyzed by using the paired sample T-test. The results showed that the cladistic worksheets based on guided inquiry were valid and effective (N-Gain= 0.54). The assessment analysis by the expert judgment was found to be feasible to be tested in the field without revision, besides that Guided inquiry-based cladistic e-worksheets after validation tests by expert lecturers were obtained from various aspects, such as the application of Guided inquiry to 100% cladistic e-worksheets, practical analysis obtained 91.6%, competency aspect analysis of 91.6%, knowledge construction, obtained a value of 80 and conformity or relevance to KD 100%. It can be concluded that the development of this media can improve students’ critical thinking skills.
Article historyImproving students' problem-solving skills can be done through teaching materials. Teaching materials used in schools throughout Indonesia have not been integrated with local potential or wisdom. This research aims to develop teaching materials based on local wisdom to improve students' problem-solving abilities. The local wisdom raised in the teaching materials is the local wisdom of agriculture in Binjai Medan and the Balinese environment based on the local wisdom of the Tumpek Wariga ceremony. The development of teaching materials uses the ADDIE design model (Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, Evaluate). The implementation phase uses a quasi-experimental method with a non-equivalent control group design in a high school located where the local wisdom applies. The results showed that the feasibility test of teaching materials and the readability test showed that teaching materials based on local agricultural wisdom in Binjai were 83.643% (very feasible) and 77.13% (high). In contrast, environmental teaching materials in Bali were based on local wisdom Tumpek Wariga. Successively very feasible (88.10%) high (95.39%). Students' problem-solving ability has increased with an N-gain of 0.67 (medium) on teaching materials based on local agricultural wisdom in Binjai and 0.71 (high) in Balinese environmental teaching materials based on Tumpek Wariga. The study results showed that teaching materials based on local wisdom of Agriculture in Binjai and Tumpek Wariga in Bali were valid and could improve students' problem-solving skills on Ecosystem and Environmental Change materials.This is an open access article under the CC-BY-SA license.
The aim of the study was to measure the effectiveness of learning materials based on local wisdom of agriculture in Binjai in improving the students' problem-solving abilities. The research method was a quasi-experimental. The sample of study were students that consisted of experiment group which used learning materials based on local wisdom of agriculture in Binjai and control group that used student handbooks. Learning materials were tested by material experts and technology experts to ensure the quality of learning materials. The results showed that the learning materials based on local wisdom of agriculture in Binjai effective in improving students' problem-solving abilities in the experimental group students based on the results of N gain value were 0.67 which has medium criteria. It means learning materials based on agricultural local wisdom of agriculture in Binjai can be used as one of the learning materials in learning activities.
This study using virtual field trip as a facilitator to developing 21st century skill in student. The use of virtual field trip is for developing an innovation of field trip which is visualized as internet based to provide trips on the field without leaving the classroom. This study aimed to facilitate the development of one of 4Cs component, which is communication of the 21st century skills using virtual field in ecosystem. There are 30 students (N=30) of 10th grade in science class at senior high school 20 Bandung became subject. The instrument using eight question for assessed written communication skill, observation rubric for assessed verbal communication skill, and response questionnaire. Through the result, we found thatstudent’s written communication skill has been increasing and included as a middle category of N-gain. The observation showed that students having a good profile on verbal communication skills. This result has been supported by the questionnaire which is all students say agree (57%) and very agree (43%) with the statement that this method help to make learning ecosystem became more interesting and perceivable.
