Por conta da importância de se aplicarem refinamentos às técnicas de prognose, a aplicação de Inteligência Artificial, como por exemplo as Redes Neurais Artificiais (RNA), se constituiu de uma alternativa vantajosa à modelagem do crescimento e produção florestal. Nesse sentido, se desenvolveu este trabalho com o objetivo avaliar o emprego de RNA na prognose do crescimento e produção madeireira comparando-se com a análise de regressão. Os dados foram coletados em um plantio de Corymbia citriodora por meio de um inventário florestal contínuo feito nas idades de 42, 54 e 66 meses. Na avaliação dos resultados obtidos, em uma validação com dados dependentes, adotou-se os critérios estatísticos: média dos desvios percentuais, raiz quadrada do erro médio, correlação e soma dos quadrados dos resíduos, além da análise gráfica da distribuição de resíduos. Incluiu-se, também nesta avaliação, a interpretação biológica das tendências de crescimento e produção florestal. Em uma etapa final de avaliação, procedeu-se a validação cruzada com o emprego do teste de qui-quadrado ao nível de 5% de significância. Concluiu-se que a prognose realizada por meio de RNA resultou em um melhor nível de acurácia que o emprego da análise de regressão.
RESUMOO presente trabalho teve por objetivo a produção de painéis compostos por cimento e resíduos da indústria agrícola e florestal utilizando a casca de arroz, o bagaço de cana e resíduos de pinus em sua composição. Os mesmos, foram coletados em indústrias locais da região, no município de Gurupi-TO. Nos painéis foram avaliados densidade aparente, compressão axial, absorção e inchamento. Para a confecção dos corpos de prova os resíduos foram submetidos ao processo de moagem e determinados três tratamentos: T1-resíduo sem pré-tratamento; T2-resíduo imerso em água por duas horas; T3-resíduo imerso em hidróxido de cálcio por duas horas sem enxague. Conforme a NBR 5738, (2003) e ASTM D1037, (1995) adaptadas, foram confeccionados moldes cilíndricos e prismáticos para os ensaios de compressão axial absorção e inchamento respectivamente.Foi utilizado na confecção dos corpos de prova o cimento Portland do tipo II (CP II), água, os resíduos e dois aditivos adicionados à argamassa de cimento que após pronta, foi colocada em moldes e submetidos a compactação vibro mecânica. Após o tempo de cura, os corpos de prova foram submetidos aos ensaios. Os painéis de cimento e resíduo de pinus apresentaram os melhores valores médios para densidade aparente de 1,5 g/cm³, compressão axial de 21,05 MPa, absorção em 24 horas de 12,27% e inchamento com 1,25% em 24 horas, seguido dos painéis com resíduos de casca de arroz e de bagaço de cana respectivamente. Recomenda-se o uso dos painéis compostos por resíduos de pinus voltados a diversas finalidades na área da construção civil de acordo com sua resistência, e para os demais painéis o uso como revestimentos variados.
O objetivo desta pesquisa foi determinar o efeito da idade da madeira do clone de Eucalytus sp. na qualidade energética da madeira e do carvão vegetal. O experimento foi conduzido no laboratório de Tecnologia e Utilização de Produtos Florestais da UFT, Campus Gurupi-TO em que foram determinadas as propriedades físicas, químicas e energéticas da madeira e do carvão vegetal do clone de Eucalyptus sp. aos 12 e aos 10 anos de idade. A madeira do clone de Eucalyptus sp. aos 10 anos apresentou valores médios aceitáveis para queima direta com teor de umidade inferior a 11%, densidade energética de 1601,486 kcal/cm 3 , estoque de carbono de 57,236 kcal/cm 3 , materiais voláteis de 84,038%, carbono fixo de 16,032 %, cinzas de 0,114 % e poder calorífico superior de 4485,955 Kcal/Kg. O carvão vegetal da madeira aos 10 anos de idade apresentou os teores de MV de 23,284 %, CF de 76,276 % e Cz de 0,444 % com valores médios dentro do recomendado pelo Selo Premium. O PCS do carvão também apresentou valor médio satisfatório para a produção de energia. Portanto a madeira do clone de Eucalyptus sp. aos 10 anos de idade e o carvão vegetal produzido são recomendados para fins energéticos.
