Eugenia uniflora L. (Myrtaceae) é uma árvore nativa cujas folhas têm propriedades farmacológicas conhecidas da tradição popular. Visando complementar as abordagens anatômicas e fitoquímicas sobre a espécie, realizou-se a caracterização das suas folhas. Folhas completamente expandidas foram coletadas de dez plantas adultas, fixadas em FAA70 e armazenadas em etanol 70%. Para as análises anatômicas, secções transversais e paradérmicas da lâmina foliar foram coradas e analisadas sob microscopia de luz e em microscopia eletrônica de varredura (MEV). A epiderme unisseriada é coberta com uma cutícula estriada. A folha é hipoestomática e tem estômatos paracítico com distribuição aleatória. Tricomas tectores unicelulares ocorrem predominantemente na região da nervura central somente na face abaxial da folha. O mesofilo é dorsiventral e cavidades secretoras com conteúdo lipídico adentram o parênquima clorofiliano, em posição subepidérmica. Cristais de oxalato de cálcio ocorrem distribuídos no mesofilo e nos bordos foliares. A nervura central apresenta feixe vascular bicolateral envolvido pela bainha esclerenquimática e colênquima anelar. Nossos resultados contribuem para a consolidação do conhecimento anatômico sobre Eugenia uniflora L.
