Este artigo objetiva caracterizar a cidade como um espaço de produção de memória; relacionar tempo, memória e nostalgia; e identificar os objetos digitais no Instagram como mediadores de memória, analisando-os durante a pandemia de COVID-19. Utiliza como metodologia uma pesquisa bibliográfica aliada às análises qualitativas e quantitativas, imagética e textual, das publicações feitas na plataforma Instagram, de março a julho de 2020, e filtradas pela hashtag #tbtrj. Os autores que norteiam o texto são Maurice Halbwachs, Pierre Nora, Milton Santos, Andreas Huyssen, Massimo Canevacci, Arjun Appadurai e José Van Dijck. Conclui que na pandemia, as publicações com a #tbtrj representam os lugares de memória da cidade do Rio de Janeiro de forma nostálgica, a partir de uma memória afetiva, projetando um futuro imaginado após a pandemia.
