Therefore, 21 combinations of keywords E. coli, beta-lactamase, ESBL, food, food of origin animal or product of animal origin in the Web of Science, ScienceDirect, Scopus and Scielo platforms were analyzed, in order to identify the combination that originated 100 results that most closely approached the objective of the research. One hundred twenty-four results obtained with the search of keywords ESBL, E. coli and food in Scopus platform were selected for analysis. It was identified that research in this area has increased in the last six years and are concentrated especially in Europe and China. Molecular biology techniques were the most frequently used, being necessary to step up its use in Brazil to increase the number of Brazilian publications in high impact journals, increasing thus its international visibility.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
