Acadêmicos de medicina têm uma rotina notoriamente desgastante, fato que dificulta a adesão à prática de atividades físicas regulares, prejudicando a qualidade de vida e predispondo a transtornos psicossociais como ansiedade, depressão e compulsão alimentar. Essa última emerge como um dos principais fatores de risco para doenças cardiovasculares e metabólicas e é um importante fator no aumento do IMC da população. Ademais, em busca de um estilo de vida mais saudável, nota-se um aumento na procura por exercícios físicos e acompanhamento nutricional pela população, incluindo estudantes de medicina. Acresce-se que, devido a um maior número de praticantes de atividades físicas, a prevalência de lesões esportivas também aumentou, indicando a importância do acompanhamento com educador físico, profissional fundamental na prevenção de injúrias desportivas. Além disso, sabe-se que o bom hábito nutricional é uma forma eficaz de evitar sobrepeso, que é um dos principais fatores de risco para lesões ortopédicas. Baseado nisso, o presente estudo tem como objetivo avaliar a prevalência de lesões no esporte e o IMC de estudantes de medicina que praticam atividade física e comparar os que possuem acompanhamento nutricional e com educador físico com aqueles que não possuem. Trata-se de um estudo transversal, descritivo, realizado por meio de um questionário quantitativo formulado através do Google Forms e aplicado em estudantes de medicina. Foram analisados 77 questionários que avaliaram prática de atividade física, acompanhamento com educador físico, acompanhamento nutricional, dados para o cálculo do IMC e prevalência de lesões esportivas. Diante disso, foi observado que 83,1% (64) praticam atividade física e 16,9% (13) não praticam, com frequência média de 3 a 4 vezes semanais, com predomínio na prática conjunta de esportes aeróbicos e anaeróbicos (51,9%). Além do mais, foram analisados dados de acompanhamento nutricional, no qual 70,1% (54) não possuíam tal assistência, e acompanhamento com educador físico, no qual 66,2% (51) também não possuíam. Também foram analisados dados de lesões sofridas durante a prática de atividade física, no qual 46,8% (36) relataram que já sofreram algum tipo de lesão, com frequência média de 1 a 2 lesões (27,3%). Ademais, lesões musculares foram as mais comuns nesta pesquisa (33,8%). Destas, apenas 14,3% das pessoas procuraram ajuda profissional e 29,9% trataram a lesão sem qualquer orientação. De acordo com a classificação de peso pelo Índice de Massa Corporal (IMC), foi observado que a maioria dos participantes são eutróficos (49,3%), no entanto, 16 possuem apenas acompanhamento com educador físico, 11 apenas acompanhamento nutricional e 8 possuem ambos, (41,5%) apresentam sobrepeso, 9 tem apenas acompanhamento com educador físico, 13 apenas acompanhamento nutricional e 7 possuem ambos. Por fim, observa-se que a maioria dos participantes pratica atividade física sem nenhum acompanhamento. Além disso, o número de lesões se mostrou significativo entre os estudantes que praticam atividade física. Ademais, foi perceptível que a maioria dos participantes deste estudo são eutróficos (49,3%) ou possuem sobrepeso (41,5%) e apenas 49 possuem algum tipo de acompanhamento.
