Bezugnehmend hierauf miichten wir erwahnen, dass, 81s wir uns vor 6 Jahren mit dem Thiosemicarbazid beschaftigten a), die bequeme von uns aufgefundene Darstellungsweise dieses Korpers auch die Frage nahe legte, ob sich derselbe an Stelle des schwerer zugiinglichen Semicarbazides, zur Charakterisirung und Isolirung von Aldehyden und Ketonen eigne. Ein Vortheil, dem Semicarbazid gegeniiher, wiire auch darin za erblicken gewesen, dass z. B. beim Herausholen von Aldehyden und Ketonen aus einem Reactionsgemisch die Entstehung eines Tbiogemicarbazons schon durch die qualitative Priifung auf Schwefel sich beweisen liesse. W i r haben daher damals eine Anzahl von Aldehydea und Ketonen auf ihr Verhalten gegen Thiosemicarbazid gepriift %) und gefunden, dass dieselben damit leicht in Reaction treten. Die Thiosemicarbazone zeigten sich liislich sowobl in concentrirten Sauren wie auch in Alkalien. Durch Kochen mit verdiinnten Siuren wurden sie leicht in ihre Componenten gespalten.
