Recientemente se ha observado que las cuestiones éticas a pesar de ser favorables en muchos aspectos de la gestión empresarial, materializarlas en resultados no es una tarea sencilla, siendo que algunas empresas han fracasado en el intento de asumir una forma de operación que esté vinculada con un buen desempeño económico, social y ecológico; en ese sentido, la responsabilidad social (RS) es una vía que las empresas hoteleras han encontrado para alcanzar la tan anhelada ventaja competitiva. Este artículo presenta los resultados cualitativos acerca de las prácticas de RS en hoteles de negocios de cuatro y cinco estrellas ubicados en la República Mexicana. Se trata de un estudio descriptivo donde se destacan resultados que indican que la RS en los hoteles se construye con la visión económica convencional, donde la empresa busca la rentabilidad maximizando sus beneficios económicos a través de factores como el mejoramiento de la productividad, el incremento de la riqueza de los accionistas y el servicio de calidad hacia los clientes.
El objetivo es analizar la percepción de los turistas de negocios respecto a la responsabilidad social empresarial (RSE) y consumo responsable (CR), identificando la asociación entre estas variables. Método: Se trata de una investigación cuantitativa, empleando pruebas estadísticas T-student, ANOVA y correlaciones para la comprobación de hipótesis. Resultados: Se evidencia que entre la RSE y la CR existen asociaciones significativas y positivas, denotando la importancia de la interacción con el cliente para dar a conocer las prácticas de RSE. Limitaciones del estudio: La naturaleza transversal y el tamaño de la muestra. Originalidad: El estudio es relevante para el sector turístico como estrategia de RSE para atraer clientes con demandas alineadas por el CR. Hallazgos: La edad de los turistas y la categoría del hotel influyen en la percepción sobre la RSE y el CR, al encontrar que entre más jóvenes y mayor sea la categoría del hotel mejor se aprecia las variables.
En el presente artículo se realiza una revisión de literatura con el propósito de analizar el estado actual de las investigaciones en torno a las políticas públicas en materia de ecoinnovación en turismo, intentando proporcionar una base de conocimiento sobre el potencial y la naturaleza de este objeto de estudio. Se desarrolla un análisis de contenido de las publicaciones incluidas en la base de datos de Web of Science, partiendo de artículos de acceso abierto bajo una ecuación de búsqueda estructurada. Se identifican 182 artículos del periodo comprendido entre 1991 y 2021, los que posteriormente son analizados y clasificados mediante los softwares Cloud of Science y Tree of Science. Los resultados muestran que el estudio de la ecoinnovación y su relación con las políticas públicas en contextos turísticos se ha llevado a cabo en países asiáticos, y que la literatura en ámbitos latinoamericanos aún se encuentra en una etapa incipiente. Igualmente, se identifican investigaciones que atienden líneas sobre las políticas que promueven el cuidado ambiental, y las políticas reguladoras que mejoran los procesos en materia ecológica, las cuales resaltan la importancia de prácticas y factores operativos. Se concluye que existe una ausencia de estudios sobre políticas reparadoras, sancionadoras y macroreguladoras para la ciencia y tecnología ambiental.

Objetivo: la revisión de literatura resulta esencial para determinar en qué medida un objeto de estudio sigue ciertos patrones interpretativos, y en ese sentido, esta investigación pretende proporcionar el estado que guarda la ecoinnovación en su relación con el turismo. Materiales y métodos: se revisaron 81 artículos publicados dentro de las bases de datos Scopus, Dimensions y el buscador Google Scholar durante el periodo 2010-2020. Resultados: se muestra un conocimiento más detallado del concepto en el turismo, identificándose tres grandes líneas de investigación: a) innovación ambiental; b) ventaja competitiva y c) gestión ambiental. Conclusión: se trata de un tema emergente para la industria turística, y una herramienta que puede contribuir a la sustentabilidad empresarial. Existe un estudio limitado en torno a la innovación en su relación con las tecnologías ambientales en el turismo.
