The paper understands cross-border natural resources as a totality of characteristics of local ecological systems, which can act as regulators of human’s life space. Authors state that uniqueness of this phenomenon is defined by the fact that all natural resources act as a single system of planet scale. The problem distinguished in the paper is based on the fact that in the period of ecological systems and natural resources development a little attention is paid to cross-border management on the part of nations they belong to. The research subject is an indicator of stability and quality of management of cross-border natural resources in the aspect of their even existing and carrying out of their functions. Scientific novelty of the research is that it’s proved for the first time that each ecological system has s number of parameters, one of which shows how much it resistant to human impact. The system of providing biodiversity is one of such parameters. In the paper the legal characteristics of the issue are identified with the actual state of interstate cooperation and the opportunity of its expansion within the already existing interstate formation is determined. The example of such formation is European Union. The areas of further research can be defined as an expansion of specified cooperation of Asian and South American continent.
The Janus kinase (JAK)/signal transducer and activator of transcription (STAT) signaling pathway has been known to be involved in cell growth, cellular differentiation processes development, immune cell survival, and hematopoietic system development. As an important member of the STAT family, STAT3 participates as a major regulator of cellular development and differentiation-associated genes. Prolonged and persistent STAT3 activation has been reported to be associated with tumor cell survival, proliferation, and invasion. Therefore, the JAK-STAT pathway can be a potential target for drug development to treat human cancers, e.g., hematological malignancies. Although STAT3 upregulation has been reported in hematopoietic cancers, protein-level STAT3 mutations have also been reported in invasive leukemias/lymphomas. The principal role of STAT3 in tumor cell growth clarifies the importance of approaches that downregulate this molecule. Epigenetic modifications are a major regulatory mechanism controlling the activity and function of STAT3. So far, several compounds have been developed to target epigenetic regulatory enzymes in blood malignancies. Here, we discuss the current knowledge about STAT3 abnormalities and carcinogenic functions in hematopoietic cancers, novel STAT3 inhibitors, the role of epigenetic mechanisms in STAT3 regulation, and targeted therapies, by focusing on STAT3-related epigenetic modifications.
BACKGROUND: Oral fluid as a means for early detection and differential diagnosis of diseases of the oral mucosa and for assessing the overall somatic status of the body attracts the attention of researchers due to the non-invasiveness of material sampling and the exclusion of risks possible during blood analysis, as well as a simpler, compared with blood samples, material storage regime. AIM: The study aimed to evaluate the levels of oral fluid biomarkers of 170 patients with squamous cell carcinoma of the oral mucosa (RCC-MOP) depending on the localization of the oncopathology. MATERIALS AND METHODS: This study analyzed the levels of oral fluid biomarkers of 170 patients with RCC-MOP depending on the localization of oncopathology. Matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) 2, 8, and 9, as well as their tissue inhibitors (TIMPs) 1 and 2, were chosen as biomarkers. For a comparative analysis, lesions of the tongue, cheek, floor of the oral cavity, alveolar ridge of the jaw, and oropharynx were selected. RESULTS: The study showed significant differences in the biomarker levels in the localization of squamous cell carcinoma in different parts of the oral mucosa. CONCLUSIONS: Analysis of the expression of oral fluid biomarkers with RCC-MOP revealed a link between the localization of the oncopathology and the level of synthesized biomarkers. The peak values of MMPs in the lesions of the tongue and floor of the oral cavity may be associated with the high number of salivary glands in these anatomical areas. The expression level is influenced by a number of factors, such as the localization of the pathological process, dental status, age, gender, and general condition of the patient.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
