Punktem wyjścia rozmowy z Ewą Zarzycką jest najkrótsza definicja performansu, według której performans to tylko „człowiek, przestrzeń i czas”. Wokół definicji tej osnuwają się kolejne refleksje artystki, prowadząc stopniowo do kwestii związanych z transmedialnością jej praktyk artystycznych i wykorzystaniem archiwum. Jednym z głównych tematów rozmowy staje się zacieranie granic pomiędzy obrazem a tekstem, likwidacja podziałów w obrębie sztuki i myślenia o mediach. Szczególnie wyeksponowany zostaje problem zakorzenienia występów i prac Ewy Zarzyckiej w narracyjności, związany z językowym „zalążkiem” każdego z jej performansów.
Artykuł analizuje Polesie F. A. Ossendowskiego w kontekście międzywojennego przekonania o egzotyczności tego regionu, które kumulowało się w metaforze „polskiej dżungli”. Pokazuje, w jaki sposób narracja reportażowa wchłaniała elementy ówczesnych dyskursów przyrodoznawczych, etnograficznych, militarnych oraz państwowych oraz na ile wpłynęły one na strategie reprezentacji literackiej. W jej ramach modernizacja Polesia była przedstawiona jako misja cywilizacyjna, ściśle sprzęgnięta z polonizacją mieszkańców tego obszaru.
Czarny Paryż ukazywał się w odcinkach na łamach "Ilustrowanego Kuriera Codziennego" w pierwszym kwartale 1932 roku 1. Pomimo publikacji w jednym z najpoczytniejszych dzienników okresu międzywojennego nie był dotąd uwzględniany w omówieniach i opracowaniach bibliograficznych dorobku literackiego Jana Brzękowskiego. Tymczasem z dzisiejszej perspektywy utwór ten wydaje się interesujący, uzupełnia bowiem dotychczasowy stan wiedzy na temat twórczości jednego z czołowych reprezentantów rodzimej pierwszej Awangardy, a jednocześnie odsłania pewien epizod złożonych, lecz wciąż jeszcze nie do końca zbadanych związków tej formacji z literaturą i kulturą popularną. Na trop Czarnego Paryża naprowadzają powojenne wspomnienia pisarza zawarte w tomie W Krakowie i w Paryżu (1968), gdzie pokrótce zostały omówione okoliczności nawiązania kontaktu z Jolantą Fuchsówną oraz dzieje współpracy nad powieścią 2. Na początku lat trzydziestych XX wieku oboje przebywali w Paryżu, skąd nadsyłali korespondencje, które ukazywały się na łamach "Ilustrowanego Kuriera Codziennego" oraz jego cotygodniowego dodatku-"Kuriera Literacko-Naukowego". Brzękowski miał już wtedy za sobą epizod z redagowaniem (wspólnie z Wandą Chodasiewicz-Grabowską) dwujęzycznego czasopisma "L'Art Contemporain-Sztuka Współczesna" (1929-1930), które miało stać się w jego zamyśle międzynarodową platformą dla wystąpień reprezentantów Nowej Sztuki. Artykuły, jakie od początku pobytu we Francji zamieszczał w "IKC-u", stanowiły w znacznej mierze odprysk tej działalności; były to przede wszystkim relacje z wydarzeń artystycznych, wywiady z tamtejszymi twórcami, a niekiedy także teksty krytyczne poświęcone literaturze francuskiej i polskiej. Okazjonalnie pisywał również felietony o mniej poważnym charakterze, ciążące w stronę scenek obyczajowych prezentujących atmosferę wielkiego miasta oraz obrazy z życia jego mieszkańców 3 .
Publicystyczna działalność Tadeusza Boya-Żeleńskiego rozwijająca się wokół zainicjowanego przez niego ruchu na rzecz "świadomego macierzyństwa" i "regulacji urodzeń" była jednym z najintensywniej dyskutowanych epizodów związanych z przemianami obyczajowości w Dwudziestoleciu międzywojennym. Przyczyniła się do ustalenia i rozpowszechnienia się stereotypowych wizerunków pisarza, uznawanego równie często za rzecznika "postępu duchowego", co za propagatora "życia ułatwionego" 1 , "beniaminka" liberalnych "postępowiczów" zafascynowanych "niskopiennymi myślami" 2 czy wreszcie "Boyszewika", pomijającego w swoich "procesjach z Priapem" najistotniejsze bolączki życia publicznego (Adolf Nowaczyński) 3. Schematyzm tych formuł wynikał nie tyle z braku inwencji adwersarzy, co raczej z wysokiej temperatury sporu, który stopniowo począł zataczać coraz szersze kręgi, dotykając tematów z pogranicza socjologii, polityki oraz ekonomii. Polemika wokół "regulacji urodzeń" odsłoniła w ten sposób cały szereg kwestii spornych, ujawniając przy okazji ukrytą granicę debaty publicznej, nie do końca pokrywającą się z linią tradycyjnych podziałów politycznych oraz ideologicznych. Z dzisiejszej perspektywy widać bowiem jak nowoczesne-w neutralnym znaczeniu tego słowa-postulaty Boya, które obecnie stały się w znacznej części powszechnym elementem praktyk obyczajowych i medycznych, zderzały się z zastrzeżeniami krytyków, przekonanych, że głoszone przezeń hasła przyczynią się do erozji norm kulturowych i rozkładu relacji międzyludzkich. Sporu tego nie sposób rozstrzygnąć jednoznacznie i dziś, tym bardziej że jego zasadnicza oś obrosła z biegiem czasu szeregiem niuansów i zastrzeżeń, można natomiast pokazać, na ile głoszone przez Boya idee uwikłane były w różne praktyki dyskursywne zrodzone z "ducha epoki". Artykuł opisuje, w jaki sposób polityczne zaangażowanie polskiego futuryzmu wpłynęło na poetyckie reprezentacje tłumu. Futuryści przedstawiali masy jako rezerwuar energii na tyle silnej, że zdolnej nie tylko do obalenia dotychczasowego porządku, lecz również do stworzenia zrębów przyszłego ładu. Spoiwem tych heterogenicznych, nie zawsze zbieżnych wyobrażeń była apoteoza rewolty, pojmowanej jako wyzwanie rzucone nowoczesnemu porządkowi (i kapitalizmowi).
