Hence, it's also a powerful predictor of several functional and dysfunctional behaviors (Zimbardo & Boyd, 1999). Still, depending on the nature of the studied construct, different facets of TP should be considered. The objective of this study is to clarify the predictor power of TP in 4 constructs related to well-being. The sample is composed of 143 Portuguese College students, with ages between 17 and 54 years old. Through a series of Multiple Regression Analyses (Stepwise Method) TP appears as a moderate and signifi cant predictor of: Satisfaction with Life (Adj. R 2 = .165, p < .001); Interpersonal Relations (Adj. R 2 = .067, p < .01); Psychological Well-Being (Adj. R 2 = .207, p < .001) and Emotional Balance (Adj. R 2 = .115, p < .001). These results highlight the role that TP has in the prediction of an adaptive psychological functioning.

1Alejandro Vásquez 2 RESUMEN Este texto es producto de la investigación sobre los Juegos recreativos tradicionales de la calle (JRTC) que se realizan en el municipio de Caldas (Antioquia-Colombia). El artículo da cuenta de las Representaciones Sociales (RS) del estudiantado del municipio sobre la tensión juego-competencia en los JRTC. Se trata de un estudio cualitativo etnográfico. La información se recoge a través del diario de campo, la fotoetnografía y la fotoetnodiscusión. Con relación a la competencia en las justas, las voces de los estudiantes perfilan dos tipos de ciudadanos: rivalistas y lúdicos, clasificación que permite identificar -en sus representaciones sociales -el potencial formativo a través de la competencia en JRTC.Palabras clave: Representación Social; Competencia; Juego. THE LOGICS OF COMPETITION IN THE RECREATIVE TRADITIONAL GAMES OF THE STREET (RTGS) FROM CALDAS (ANTIOQUIA-COLOMBIA), PARADOXICAL DRAMA OF CITIZENSHIP EDUCATION IN THE SOCIAL REPRESENTATIONS OF STUDENTSABSTRACT This text reports on an investigation conducted over the Recreative traditional street games (RTSG) developed in the Municipality of Caldas (Antioquia-Colombia). The article informs about the Social Representations (SR) of those students of municipality about relationship game-competence in RTGS. It is a qualitative ethnographic issue. The information gathers across a field journal, photo ethnography and photo ethodiscussion.
