Abstract-Abstract -The use of activated carbon in treating water has achieved the elimination of contaminating elements. This paper uses water samples taken from the Daule and Tenguel rivers for after-the-fact filtration with carbon generated from waste product including PLATANO (banana or plantain??), rice husks, and the seed of the ZAPOTE, which were chemically activated individually providing three varieties of activated carbon.
Abstract-This project was developed within the framework of relationship with the Community, where university students carried out internships under the servicelearning methodology. Abstract-This project was developed within the framework of relationship with the Community, where university students carried out internships under the service-learning methodology. The objective of the project was to provide technical support to Small Scale Miners and Traditional Miners at the Mining District of Ponce Enriquez -Ecuador, for solving technical gaps detected in the mining activity. Thus, this project contributed to provide information to university students about the social reality of the rural areas of Ecuador, contributing to the creation of a proactive and participative position of the students for helping the community.
