in Budapest. Im Jahre 1900 machte Ad. Czerny den Vorschlag, nur jene Symptome unter dem Begriff der Skrofulose zu vereinigen, bei denen der Tuberkulosebacillus keine Rolle spielt. Er hat diese Erscheinungen, mit Ausnahme der Hypertrichose und der zirkulären Zahncaries, durch einige andere ergänzt, im Jahre 1905 zu einem einheitlichen klinischen Kranklieitsbilde zusammengefaßt und unter dem Namen der exsudativen Diathese beschrieben.2) Seither hat er diesen Krankheitstypus nach verschiedenen Richtungen hin ausgebaut.TJnter der exsudativen Diathese wird heute eine Konstitutionsanomalie verstanden, welche auf einer angeborenén chemischen Alteration dss kindlichen Organismus beruht, die zu vorwiegend exsudativen Prozessen disponiert. Diese chemische Auffassung der Diathese findet in den glänzenden Erfolgen, die durch ine I) Vortrag, gehalten in der Sektion für Kinderheilkunde des XVI. Internationalen
Zahlreiche Analysen haben gelehrt, daß die Knochen rachitischer Kinder an Knochensaizen ärmer als diejenigen gesunder Kinder sind. Dies gab Veranlassung zu mannigfaltigen Untersuchungen der Kalkausnätzung. Seemann') fand eine Verminderung der Kalkausscheidung ini Rame rachitischer Kinder trotz genügender Zufuhr von Kalksalzen in der Muttermilch. Er erklärt den Mangel an Kalksalzanlagerung durch eine ungenügende Auflösung von Kalksalzen im Magen infolge geringer Salzsäureproduktion, die ihrerseits wieder auf dem übermäßigen Kalireichtum der Nahrung basiert.2) Zur Erhärtung dieser Annahme erwähnt er die guten Heilerfolge, welche er durch Kochsalz-und Salzsäurezufuhr bei einer größeren Anzahl von rachitiskranken Kindern erreichte. Zander3) führt mehrere Fälle von Rachitis an, in denen das in der Frauenmilch bestehende Verhältnis zwischen Natron und Kali zugunsten des letzteren verschoben war. In einer groß angelegten Arbeit greift Zweifel4) auf die Kochsalztheorie Bunge s zurück. Da die Mütter zumeist ungesaizenes Brot genießen, sinke der Salzgehalt der Milch unter das erforderliche Maß Zweifel glaubt aus diesem Grunde annehmen zu können, daß die Chlorarmut der Milch eine verminderte Salzsäureproduktion und diese wieder eine ungenügende Auflösung der aufgenommenen Kalksalze bedinge. Durch Versuche konnte Zweifel diese Annahm.e nicht erhärten, denn trotz streng vegetabilischer (kalireicher) Diät der Mütter zeigte der Chiorgehalt der Milch eine große Stabilität.
