Este artigo propõe uma reflexão sobre a história do pensamento sobre a escravidão no ocidente procurando identificar sua relação com a constituição da segurança pública contemporânea. Inicialmente através de uma análise monográfica das discussões sobre a escravidão no campo da filosofia e do direito, apresentando as ambiguidades e paradoxos oriundos da instituição da escravidão enquanto experiência; em um segundo momento refletir sobre a relação da escravidão com a segurança, crime e violência e o exercício de um tipo específico de controle social; por fim, procuramos verificar as transformações, aproximações e distanciamentos do controle social exercido sobre as populações escravizadas com o processo de formação do Estado brasileiro contemporâneo e também modelador da segurança pública atual.
O artigo apresentado resulta de uma pesquisa etnográfica realizada mediante observação participativa em três grupos de WhatsApp bolsonaristas, em que foram examinados os conteúdos das conversas e outros tipos de publicações neles compartilhados visando promover o engajamento político daqueles que se reconhecem como conservadores, sobretudo, pelo presidente do Brasil, Jair Bolsonaro, e pelo polemista e autointitulado filósofo, Olavo de Carvalho. O objetivo desta investigação consistiu em identificar: 1) o alinhamento das narrativas negacionistas da pandemia de Covid-19 e das medidas sanitárias destinadas ao seu controle com os discursos que vêm sendo manejados para garantir apoio e estabilidade ao governo Bolsonaro; e 2) evidenciar a chamada guerra cultural como dispositivo de desinformação que atua como máquina de guerra a partir do uso do WhatsApp, apresentado como máquina técnica.
Este artigo propõem uma reflexão sobre a genealogia da proibição da maconha no Brasil. Procurando identificar a contribuição da antropologia – através das teorias evolucionistas – na construção do discurso proibicionista que se articula tanto com o saber médico quanto com o saber jurídico. E os reflexos dessa genealogia na atual política de drogas conduzida pelo Sistema de Justiça Criminal (SJC).
