A punção lombar é um procedimento para vários fins diagnósticos e também usada para aplicação de anestesia neuroaxial. A cefaleia pós punção dural (CPPD) foi a primeira e é a mais comum complicação da anestesia subaracnóidea, com incidência estimada inferior a 3%com sintomas que iniciam, geralmente, nas primeiras 12-48 horas após o bloqueio, apresenta como principal característica a natureza postural, que piora nas posições sentada e em ortostática e melhora em decúbito.Foi realizado uma revisão integrativa de literatura sobre o tema. O levantamento dos dados foi efetuado nas bases de dados Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online - PubMed / MEDLINE, Literatura Latino-Americana e do Caribe em Ciências da Saúde -LILACS no período de Janeiro a Fevereiro de 2022. O tratamento da CPPD está pautado em repouso no leito, evitar esforço, ingestão adicional de líquidos oral ou intravenoso (IV), ingestão de café, analgésicos orais ou IV (Anti-inflamatórios não esteroides (AINES), paracetamol ou opioides), corticosteroides ou gabapentina/pregabalina15. Várias outras opções foram descritas, no entanto nenhuma delas existem evidências suficientes para apoiar o uso rotineiro. Como opções quando falha do tratamento clinico, tem-se o Bloqueio do Gânglio Esfenopalatino Transnasal, Bloqueio do Nervo Occiptal Maior e em casos refratários, o Tampão de Sangue Peridural (Blood Patch).
