Abstrak-The purpose of this study was to find out how the implementation of physical education learning in mentally retarded students at YPAC Medan Special School (SLB). The method used in this study uses a qualitative approach. The subjects of this study were physical education teachers and mild tuna students. Data collection techniques using observation and interview data. Based on the results of research found that students are still undeveloped from the educational process such as students who have not been able to read, the teacher does not have a special background education which makes it difficult for teachers to teach mentally disabled children, and teachers should have a special teacher in implementing learning. The conclusion of this study is that the creativity of physical education teachers is very much needed in making learning that stimulates the development of student and motoric knowledge of students, the selection of activities for learning physical education is still difficult to determine by physical education teachers. This is due to the condition and situation of mentally disabled children who every day are difficult to predict. Therefore physical education teachers must pay attention to children's intellectual, social and emotional levels.
Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan yang bertujuan untuk menghasilkan produk yang berupa buku panduan permainan edugame model cicuit untuk anak tunagrahita ringan.Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di sekolah SLB Negeri Pembina Medan dan SLB YPAC Medan Provinsi Sumatera Utara. Hasil analisis data dari evaluasi ahli, di dapat rata-rata penilaian pada uji skala kecil (kelompok kecil) 70,91% (layak digunakan). Maka dapat dinyatakan bahwa produk permainan edugame model circuit efektif terhadap anak tuna grahita ringan. Dari nilai yang diperoleh pada uji kelompok besar diketahui bahwa skore mpiris diperoleh sebesar 87,86 % (Sangat Layak Digunakan). Artinya penelitian ini sudah cukup untuk ketahui validnya permainan edugame model circuit terhadap kemampuan dan kebutuhan anak tuna grahita ringan di SLB-C kota Medan Hasil uji efektivitas dan efisiensi di atas adalah 91,33% dalam kategori sangat layak digunakan atau sangat efektif. Data ujicoba kelompok kecil dihimpun dengan menggunakan kuesioner yang diisi para siswa diperoleh presentase jawaban yang sesuai dengana spek yang dinilai sebesar 82,5%. Dan data ujicoba kelompok besar dihimpun dengan menggunakan kuesioner yang diisi parasiswa diperoleh presentase jawaban sebesar 88,33%. Sehingga kesimpulannya adalah permainan edu game model circuit ini memenuhi kriteria “Baik” atau “Layak” sehingga dapat digunakan dalam pembelajaran pendidikan jasmani anak tunagrahita dengan klasifikasi ringan.
