The A6 Relativistic Magnetron with Diffraction Output (MDO) with two cathode geometries have been investigated. The cathode radius of the magnetron structure has been decreased to make it operate in π-mode. The radiation from the magnetron is extracted axially by tapering onto a conical antenna only those cavities of the anode that correspond to the symmetry of the radiated modes. CST Electromagnetic finitedifference-time domain Particle-In-Cell (PIC) code has been used to simulate the structure. With an input voltage of 240kV, the magnetic field has been varied to maximize the output RF voltage amplitude.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
