Self-compassion is natural, trainable and multi-faceted human capacity. To date there has been little research into the role of culture in influencing the conceptual structure of the underlying construct, the relative importance of different facets of self-compassion, nor its relationships to cultural values. This study employed a cross-cultural design, with 4,124 participants from 11 purposively sampled datasets drawn from different countries. We aimed to assess the relevance of positive and negative items when building the self-compassion construct, the convergence among the self-compassion components, and the possible influence of cultural values. Each dataset comprised undergraduate students who completed the “Self-Compassion Scale” (SCS). We used a confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) approach to the multitrait-multimethod (MTMM) model, separating the variability into self-compassion components (self-kindness, common humanity, mindfulness), method (positive and negative valence), and error (uniqueness). The normative scores of the Values Survey Module (VSM) in each country, according to the cultural dimensions of individualism, masculinity, power distance, long-term orientation, uncertainty avoidance, and indulgence, were considered. We used Spearman coefficients (rs) to assess the degree of association between the cultural values and the variance coming from the positive and negative items to explain self-compassion traits, as well as the variance shared among the self-compassion traits, after removing the method effects produced by the item valence. The CFA applied to the MTMM model provided acceptable fit in all the samples. Positive items made a greater contribution to capturing the traits comprising self-compassion when the long-term orientation cultural value was higher (rs = 0.62; p = 0.042). Negative items did not make significant contributions to building the construct when the individualism cultural value was higher, but moderate effects were found (rs = 0.40; p = 0.228). The level of common variance among the self-compassion trait factors was inversely related to the indulgence cultural value (rs = -0.65; p = 0.030). The extent to which the positive and negative items contribute to explain self-compassion, and that different self-compassion facets might be regarded as reflecting a broader construct, might differ across cultural backgrounds.
Проблема и цель. Организация смешанного обучения требует наличия виртуального образовательного пространства, позволяющего формировать учебные сообщества. Факультетом физического воспитания Иорданского университета был разработан ряд курсов в формате смешанного обучения, включающих как очные занятия (контактные часы), так и онлайн взаимодействие на базе виртуальной образовательной платформы. Цель настоящего исследованиявыявить, могут ли режимы смешанного обучения влиять на восприятие студентами образовательных целей, а также на их удовлетворённость учебным процессом. Методология. Данное исследование проводилось с применением метода анкетирования. В нём приняли участие 83 студента уровня бакалавриата, осваивающие образовательные программы по моторному научению на факультете физического воспитания. Результаты. В результате исследования был диагностирован высокий уровень удовлетворённости студентов программой смешанного обучения на базе виртуальной образовательной среды (83 %). Также было установлено, что на степень удовлетворённости учебным процессом значительно влияет специфика чередования онлайн и традиционного образовательного контента. Кроме того, наибольшая степень удовлетворённости качеством преподавания была зафиксирована в случаях, когда обучение способствовало повышению уровня учебной самостоятельности студентов. Заключение. В заключении делается вывод о том, что получаемая от студентов обратная связь имеет большое значение для обеспечения успешной реализации смешанного обучения. This study aimed at determining levels of cognitive achievement among football players in Jordanian professional football league. A descriptive research design was initialized to collect the data from a sample of (120) players, the overall results of study indicated that football players in Jordanian professional league had an average level of scientific cognitive achievement. (In football law). Moreover, no significant differences were found among players from different teams. The study proposed number of theoretical and practical recommendations in order to improve the level of cognitive achievement for football law among Jordanian football players.
The present study aimed to investigate the strength level of mindfulness and hand-eye coordination among elite fencers, also to determine whether the gender differences in mindfulness were existed, The subjects of this study consisted of sixteen elite fencers, Five Facet Mindfulness Questionnaire (FFMQ) Arabic version used to assess mindfulness (FFMQ), also handgrip dynamometer to assess strength and Hand-eye coordination manual dexterity to measure hand-eye coordination.The research used the steadiness toaster, hold type model 32011 to assess eye -hand coordination.The participants Study sample consists of sixteen national fencers (Jordanian National Team), aged between (14-23) years. The results indicated that the level of mindfulness was moderated and there is no statistically significant relationship between strength, Mindfulness and hand-eye coordination. Furthermore, gender differences were observed regarding strength.
The study aimed at investigating the effect of faculty members in applying knowledge management processes at the colleges of physical education in Jordanian. The study sample involved (51) faculty members from University of Jordan and the Hashemite University. To collect the data for the current study, the knowledge management scale was used. The results showed that the level of effectiveness among faculty members in applying knowledge management processes was on the average. Also results showed no significant differences in knowledge management effectiveness due to gender, academic rank and experiences level. The study recommended that it is necessary to introduce the concept of knowledge management processes to faculty members and students theoretically and practically.
