The major purpose of the study was to examine the relationship between teacher self efficacy and burnout. In order to collect the related data, "Maslach Burnout Inventory" and "Teacher Sense of Efficacy Scale" were used. The sample of the study consisted of 163 randomly chosen teachers who worked in various primary and secondary state schools in 2014-2015 academic year. The results of the data analysis put forward that there was significant, medium and negative correlation between teacher self efficacy and burnout levels of the participants. Hierarchical multiple regression analysis results, which were run to assess the relationship between the two variables better, indicated that teacher self efficacy predicted burnout negatively. In the light of these findings and other related studies several suggestions were made.
As in every organization, leadership plays the most important role in conducting business in school organizations as well. Organizations reach their goals more effectively and more efficiently when they are effective. The aim of this study is to assess data regarding qualities and training of effective school leaders. To achieve this end, a qualitative study was designed and related data were collected. A form consisting of six open-ended questions was developed as a data collection tool. The study was conducted with a group of 26 teachers and four administrators. The data were analyzed through content and descriptive analysis. It was expected that effective school principals have strong interpersonal relationships, have leadership qualities, and are considerate in terms of social and personality traits. Some suggestions regarding the training of principals were also presented.
Bu araştırmanın amacı, eğitim personellerinde iş stresinin işten ayrılma niyetine etkisinde depresyon düzeylerinin aracılık (mediator) etkisini araştırmaktır. Araştırma kapsamında 2013-2014 eğitimöğretim yılında Gaziantep il merkezinde bulunan okullarda görev yapmakta olan 67 okul müdürü, 79 müdür yardımcısı ve 163 öğretmen çalışma grubunu oluşturmaktadır. Araştırma sonucunda eğitim personellerinde iş stresi ve depresyon düzeylerinin, işten ayrılma niyetini anlamlı şekilde yordadığı görülmüştür. Eğitim personelinin iş stresi düzeylerinin, işten ayrılmayı yordamasında depresyon düzeylerinin aracılık etkisiyle ilgili analizlerin sonuçlarına göre; depresyon düzeylerinin ara yordayıcı olduğu saptanmış olup, konu ile ilgili çözüm önerileri sunulmuştur.
