This study aims at examining the effects of electronic banking on bank's profitability in Jordan. How banking sector finds itself before a new fact imposed by technology revolution and digits to change their work mechanisms from traditional means to electronic means and the challenges banks face as a result. Furthermore, this study investigates the reasons behinds providing electronic banking services through internet, their impact on banking services in general and banks profitability in particular. Risks and challenges involved are discussed Results and recommendations are included. Results revealed that electronic banking service has a negative effect on banks profitability on the short term. The importance of this study and the factors that make it unique is that, it discusses solely the topic of the effects of electronic banking on banks profitability, while most of other studies discuss the topic in general term. The findings of the study are the impact of electronic banking on banks profitability will be feature of the short run due to the capital investment by the banks on infrastructure and training but will be positive on the long run.
This study aims at examining the effect of cash flow on share price of the Jordanian commercial banks listed in Amman stock exchange, through measuring the effect of operational, investing and financing cash flow, as individual or jointly on the share price of the Jordanian commercial banks.In order to achieve the objectives of the study a sample of twelve Jordanian commercial banks were chosen through intentional sampling approach, out of fifteen banks which constitutes the total number of the Jordanian commercial banks. These participating banks meet the requirement of the study.For the sake of the study, the analytical approach along with other necessary statistical methods have been utilized. Annual reports to obtain financial statements for the purpose of statements analysis are used too.
Statistical analysis indicates several results such as:There is limited effect of operative, investment and financing cash flows on share market value of the Jordanian commercial banks (study's sample responses on items 10, 20,132). Consequently, more concern is needed in regard to cash flow behavior when conducting share price assessment.
Problem statement: The aim of this study is to identify the extent to which Information Technology (IT) has been used to support TQM in order to identify the role of IT in implementing Total Quality Management (TQM). The primary emphasis of this study was on how IT provides help and supports in TQM processes rather than on TQM performance. This has many policy implications for different firms that are welling to enhance the role of IT in different aspects of their TQM. Approach: The questionnaire survey was used as the data collection method. Data were analysed using SPSS programme. This study is limited only to the managers of operations departments in different companies at Sohar Industrial Estate in Oman. Results: The results of the research indicate that the usage of IT is not the same among the different TQM dimensions. The highest level of IT support was used in information and analysis, output quality assurance and important innovation. While the lowest level of IT support was used in quality results and supplier quality assurance. Conclusion/Recommendations: As IT role should be enhanced in modifying work processes in order to improve product quality and productivity. Value and international implications: This study is the first to be applied in Gulf area, an area that exhibits arapid groth and presence of international companies
