Knowledge on the classification (mustalah) and sciences (ulum) of the al-Hadith that has long existed is the platform for religious scholars to debate the preservation and safeguarding of the originality and authenticity of the Prophet's SAW hadith. The topic is to determine whether to accept or reject the circumstances surrounding the chain of narrators (sanad) and the text of the hadith (matan). The evaluation of a hadith is made based on the sanad and matan criticisms. What is the relationship between these two aspects and to what degree does the role and significance of these two aspects affect the evaluation of a hadith, notwithstanding the criteria needed by parties that intend to evaluate the hadith? Hence, these are some of the questions that reflect the issues in this article. This brief study on the writings by experts in the field has produced a few latent points that can be summarised as; the criticisms of the sanad and matan had begun since the time of the Prophet's SAW companions although criticisms on the matan took preference and dominance due to the need at that moment in time. In the context of evaluating the hadith, both these aspects need to be jointly criticized and not in a separate context. At times, the hadith might have been authenticated based on the sanad, nevertheless criticism of the matan would still be initiated to ascertain that the text of the hadith is safe from contradictory facts or void of any hidden flaws.
In facing a very challenging passage in time, Muslims need to possess a strong self-identity in order to progress together with the contemporary demands without sacrificing sacred religious values. Hence, this study aimed to explore Nursi's ideas related to the instilling of noble values as an element of self-identity. This qualitative study applied the content analysis method to achieve the objectives of the study. The findings showed that applying noble values is important in ensuring that the Islamic society continues to be relevant to its Islamic identity besides helping the country to maintain a level of inter-racial harmony. It also plays a role as an instrument for dakwah, especially for the non-Muslim community.
This article reports a study of the evidence verse of the Quran can cure the disease either physically or spiritually. All people living in the world have suffered from either mild or severe disease. Every disease has a cure for the disease. Normally, physical ailments treated by doctors who are experts in their field. Meanwhile, the spiritual diseases such as harassment and magic genie need people who are experts in the field of Islamic medicine. However, both types of diseases can be cured by using Quran verses. Practice methods of treating diseases by reading Quran verses has become a habit for Muslims in Malaysia in particular. This practice requires a strong spirit and confidence of nurses to patients treated confident and hopes wholly to Allah. Indeed, the illness will be cured with a business and trust and with His permission. Illness suffered by a person is actually a test of Allah so that they remember and turn to Allah. What evidence exists to suggest that the Quran verses can cure disease? How do the Quran verses can cure all types of diseases? In answering this questions, there are objective in this article, namely the first, to analyse and identify evidence to suggest that the disease can be cured not only with a doctor's treatment methods or drugs but also can be cured with the use of the Quran verses. This qualitative study using the library, World Wide Web, article, journal and the data were analysed by the method of document analysis. The findings contained in this article are reviewing and examining that selective evidence in the Quran verses can cure diseases.
