Nous nous intéressons à la notion de besoins éducatifs particuliers (BEP) telle que les enseignant·e·s la comprennent et la vivent au quotidien de l’école inclusive qui se met en place. Leur préoccupation première ne porte pas avant tout sur des obstacles didactiques en regard des difficultés d’apprentissage spécifiques des élèves à BEP. Elle est d’abord liée aux ressentis d’un manque de moyens, structurels et humains, pour une prise en charge adéquate de ces élèves leur permettant de faire la classe comme souhaité. Les élèves présentant des troubles du comportement, ne maitrisant pas la langue de scolarisation sont aussi évoqués. Entre la recherche du « truc qui marche » et l’attente de solutions extérieures pour résoudre la difficulté de l’élève, les enseignant·e·s ne semblent pas vraiment s’engager dans une réflexion didactique approfondie. Cela laisse vacante leur place légitime, celle d’expert·e·s des apprentissages scolaires. L’enjeu reste, pour l’école, de répondre aux véritables besoins des élèves. L’évaluation cristallise des tensions et l’école résiste, mais ce dépassement ne dépend pas que de la seule bonne volonté des enseignant·e·s. C’est un défi multiple pour les formations.
