O objetivo deste estudo foi mostrar as medidas aplicadas para aumentar a adesão ao uso de EPI´s entre profissionais de um hospital especializado em doenças infectocontagiosas. Tratou-se de uma pesquisa de campo com desenho prospectivo, descritivo e quantitativo de aspecto observacional. Foram realizadas 230 auditorias internas para observações quanto ao uso de EPI´s entre profissionais da assistência e foi possível observar que o maior número de não conformidades (35,6%) foi encontrada entre servidores da clínica médica onde estavam internados pacientes adultos do gênero masculino com algum tipo de imunossupressão e portadores de doenças infectocontagiosas. Antes da realização do inquérito observacional foram realizados vários encontros para orientações sobre biossegurança e comportamento em ambiente hospitalar, na tentativa de melhorar a adesão ao uso de EPI´s, mas este esforço só aumentou a adesão, que antes era de 40% para 78%. Mas com a implantação das medidas corretivas a adesão chegou a 97%. A conscientização ao uso de equipamentos de proteção deve ser uma atitude pessoal, pois cada servidor, sem necessitar de policiamento, punições e pressões externas, deve ter apreço por resguardar sua própria vida.
A transfusão sanguínea é um evento irreversível que acarreta tanto benefícios como riscos ao receptor. Por isso é importante que todos os profissionais envolvidos nesse procedimento estejam capacitados para prestar um atendimento adequado desde a indicação, anotações corretas até a identificação das reações adversas que possam ocorrer. Objetivo: Analisar a ocorrência de nãoconformidades relacionadas ao ato transfusional em pacientes internados em um hospital especializado em Medicina Tropical. Metodologia: pesquisa quantitativa, estatística-descritiva, exploratória e retrospectiva. Resultados: Foram analisadas 1.132 fichas de solicitação de hemotransfusão, destas, 4,6% não tinha informações sobre o valor da hemoglobina do paciente, 4,3% sobre as plaquetas e 7,1% sobre o Tempo de Coagulação-TAP e 39,6% tinham como justificativa da indicação da transfusão apenas algum tipo de anemia sem maiores especificações. Conclusão: há falhas tanto nas indicações de transfusão sanguínea por falta de dados hematimétricos, quanto por não conformidades nas anotações de enfermagem.
Introdução: Fatores sociais como pobreza, desnutrição, estresse, superpopulação e exposição í microbactérias ambientais influenciam a susceptibilidade í tuberculose. Objetivo: descrever o perfil socioeconômico e epidemiológico de pacientes portadores de tuberculose internados em um hospital especializado em doenças infecto-contagiosa Metodologia: Tratou-se de um estudo prospectivo de caráter descritivo com abordagem quantitativa Resultados: Foram entrevistados 51 pacientes portadores de tuberculose que estavam internados, destes, 90,5% eram portadores de tuberculose pulmonar e 9,5% extra pulmonar, a maioria (61,9%) eram do gênero masculino com média de idade de 35 anos e 95% moravam na capital do Estado sendo que 61,9% tinham moradia própria e 4,7% eram moradores de rua, todos eram portadores do vírus HIV. Conclusão: fatores sociais, econômicos, intra-hospitalar e presença de comorbidades pode influenciar direta ou indiretamente na disseminação da tuberculose.
