Este artigo busca expor e propor a técnica denominada Controle de Convencionalidade como alternativa inovadora consistente para, hermeneuticamente, coadunar regras de direitos humanos provenientes do Sistema Interamericano de proteção e alcançar a coerência entre obrigações assumidas pelos Estados ante a normativa internacional. Para tanto, é abordada a natureza das interrelações do Ordenamento Jurídico Estatal e o Internacional na busca pela coerência, através da aplicação coordenada de regras internacionais, em substituição aos critérios tradicionais de solução de antinomias. Tendo em vista que a Corte Interamericana de Direitos Humanos consolidou em sua jurisprudência a vinculação dos magistrados e operadores da justiça dos Estados nacionais em atualizar-se em relação às interpretações emitidas por aquele órgão jurisdicional, como forma de trazer maior coerência e lograr proteger eficazmente os Direitos Humanos em nosso continente. Para tanto, foi realizada uma pesquisa bibliográfica e documental, com método de abordagem dedutivo. O artigo demonstra diferentes graus de implementação do Controle de Convencionalidade na América Latina, destacando os casos peruano e argentino cujos entendimentos representam a vanguarda do continente.
