Este estudo objetivou analisar os fatores de prazer e sofrimento no exercício gerencial do enfermeiro no contexto hospitalar. Tratase de uma pesquisa exploratório-descritiva com abordagem qualitativa, que utilizou como técnica de coleta a entrevista semiestruturada. Foi realizada em um hospital universitário, e os dados foram analisados mediante análise temática. Os 19 enfermeiros que participaram do estudo revelaram que a gerência é fonte de prazer quando há crescimento pessoal e profissional, reconhecimento dos colegas e satisfação do paciente; e fonte de sofrimento em função das dificuldades de relacionamento com a equipe de trabalho e da sobrecarga de trabalho. Ressalta-se a necessidade de os enfermeiros gerentes compreenderem a dualidade sofrimento e prazer na busca de um trabalho mais construtivo e realizador, por meio de maior articulação da atividade gerencial, com a experiência de vida, além do respaldo institucional e apoio dos colegas de trabalho. Abstract ResumenThis study aimed to analyze the factors of pleasure and suffering at work in nursing management in the hospital context. This is an exploratory-descriptive study with qualitative approach, which was used as a technique for collecting semi-structured interview. It was conducted in a university hospital and the data were analyzed using thematic analysis. The 19 nurses who participated in the study revealed that management is a source of pleasure when there is personal and professional growth, recognition and job satisfaction, and a source of suffering because of the difficulties of relationship with the team and work overload. It emphasizes the need for nurse-managers understand the duality suffering, and pleasure when seeking for a position more constructive and fulfilling, through greater coordination of management activity, with the experience of life, beyond the institutional backing and support from coworkers. Este estudio tuvo como objetivo analizar los factores de placer y sufrimiento en el ejercicio gerencial del enfermero en el ámbito hospitalario. Investigación exploratoria-descriptiva con enfoque cualitativo, que utilizó como técnica la entrevista seme-estructurada. Se llevó a cabo en un hospital universitario y los datos fueron examinados utilizando el análisis temático. Los 19 enfermeros que participaron revelaran que la gerencia es una fuente de placer cuando hay crecimiento personal y profesional, reconocimiento y satisfacción en el trabajo, y una fuente de sufrimiento debido a las dificultades de relación con el equipo y la sobrecarga de trabajo. Se evidencia la necesidad de que los enfermeros gerentes entiendan la dualidad sufrimiento y placer de una manera más constructiva y satisfactoria, mediante una mayor coordinación de las actividades gerenciales, con la experiencia de la vida, más allá del respaldo institucional y del apoyo de sus compañeros de trabajo.
RESUMOEste estudo teve como objetivo analisar a produção científi ca acerca da auditoria em enfermagem publicada em artigos nacionais entre 1998 e 2008. Realizou-se uma revisão sistemática da literatura, com os artigos sendo pesquisados nas bases de dados LILACS e SciELO, a partir dos descritores auditoria, auditoria de enfermagem, qualidade da assistência à saúde e supervisão de enfermagem. A amostra constituiu-se de dez trabalhos. As publicações analisadas descrevem as principais distorções e não conformidades presentes nas anotações de enfermagem, relacionando-as, principalmente, com a qualidade da assistência de enfermagem e com os prejuízos fi nanceiros às instituições. As publicações também destacam a função administrativa do enfermeiro, sobretudo a função de liderança junto à equipe de enfermagem; e a auditoria de enfermagem, como um processo educativo. ABSTRACTThis study aimed to analyze the scientifi c production about audit in nursing, published in national papers, between 1998 and 2008. A systematic review of the literature was conducted, with articles being searched in the databases LILACS and SciELO, from the key words: audit, nursing, quality health care and nursing supervision. The analyzed publications describe the main distortions and non-conformities found in nursing records, relating them mainly with the quality of nursing care and with the fi nancial damage to the institutions. Este estudo teve como objetivo analisar as concepções dos enfermeiros gerentes de um hospital universitário sobre a comunicação na gerência de enfermagem hospitalar. Trata-se de um estudo exploratório-descritivo de abordagem qualitativa interpretativa. Os dados foram produzidos entre setembro e outubro de 2007, por vinhetas e entrevistas com 19 enfermeiros gerentes de um hospital universitário do sul do Brasil, e submetidos à análise temática. Os enfermeiros reconhecem a importância da comunicação no gerenciamento de enfermagem, concebendo-as, entretanto, de maneiras distintas: parte do grupo pesquisado destacou a comunicação na sua perspectiva dialógica e interativa; e outra, o entendimento da comunicação formalizada, pautada na transmissão e manutenção de normas e rotinas hospitalares, com ênfase na comunicação escrita. É importante a ampliação das discussões acerca da tríade comunicação, gerência e diálogo, visando a construção de formas mais interativas de gerenciar o cuidado de enfermagem hospitalar.
O exercício da gerência do enfermeiro é permeado de conflitos que podem ser interpretados pelos referenciais de cultura. O presente estudo tem como objetivo denotar especificidades culturais, analisadas segundo a Teoria Interpretativa da Cultura de Geertz, que se expressam como conflitos no âmbito da gerência do enfermeiro num Hospital Universitário. Os resultados denotam a incorporação de elementos ideológicos e de mecanismos de controle e de poder, que manifestam sua origem na forma de organização do trabalho. Percebe-se a efetivação de políticas alicerçadas em valores da própria profissão. As práticas exercidas destacam uma construção cultural que elucida algumas compreensões dos processos cognitivos, sociais e comportamentais, pois estes organizam as interpretações e as respostas para os eventos da prática gerencial do enfermeiro. Os resultados deste estudo apontam para a importância da cultura organizacional no exercício da gerência na enfermagem diante das incertezas laborais, na complexidade do ambiente hospitalar
