El proceso de emergencia de la nueva área de conocimiento, producto de la convergencia entre los campos de la neurociencia y la educación, se encuentra aún en su etapa de consolidación. En este punto de evolución disciplinar, resulta imprescindible definir un marco multidimensional para la construcción del conocimiento, con el fin de fundamentar la consiliencia entre los campos académicos implicados. En este trabajo se realiza una revisión crítica de la literatura asociada a las cuestiones epistemológicas, que subyacen en el intento de comunicación entre disciplinas, proporcionando un marco teórico que parte de cuestiones epistémicas básicas, para finalmente concretizarse en unas bases que fundamenten la sinergia entre las ciencias de la educación y las ciencias del cerebro. En el conjunto de literatura revisada emergió de forma explícita el estado de indefinición terminológica del área referida como neurociencia educativa, neuroeducación, o mente, cerebro y educación. Esta inconcreción en la nomenclatura encuentra su correlato en la ambigüedad epistemológica de las distintas propuestas, así como la necesidad de superación de modelos unidireccionales de comunicación. En conclusión, este tipo de modelo relacional, situado en el marco interdisciplinar, podría estar demandando una evolución hacia un enfoque transdisciplinar: con el establecimiento de una bidireccionalidad efectiva que incorpore a los profesionales e investigadores educativos como agentes activos en los procesos de construcción de conocimiento de este nuevo campo
En este trabajo se realiza una propuesta de comunicación transdisciplinar entre las ciencias cognitivas y la educación, tal y como se perfilan en el siglo XXI. En un primer lugar se contextualizan estos procesos de comunicación en el continuum histórico que transita desde los inicios del siglo pasado, con la configuración de la psicología educativa dentro del constructo de las ciencias educativas; pasando por la constitución de las ciencias cognitivas, a mediados del siglo XX que propició la emergencia de la síntesis disciplinar entre las ciencias del cerebro y de la mente, para posibilitar un encuadre arraigado en el presente, y en las propuestas de consiliencia entre neurociencia cognitiva y educación. Desde este presente histórico, se efectúa una propuesta de diálogo entre las distintas epistemes (educativas y cognitivas), en relación con el fenómeno de la educación bilingüe, y en concreto en el contexto intercultural ecuatoriano. La integración de los distintos niveles de análisis que configuran un fenómeno complejo, como lo es todo fenómeno educativo, refleja cómo los intentos transdisciplinares orientados a reconocer la complejidad ontológica de un mismo objeto de estudio, requiere del diálogo entre las distintas epistemologías y metodologías implicadas. La apertura del campo educativo a las dimensiones mentales y cerebrales en su expresión cognitiva, requiere en este s. XXI procesos de apertura recíproca respecto de la influencia que el eje cultura-educación ejerce en el modelamiento de los procesos de cognición y aprendizaje.

Hasta la fecha, Steve Bowkett ha publicado más de cincuenta títulos y numerosos relatos cortos y poemas.Sobre la obra que nos ocupa Esta obra trata de romper con la tradición en lo que a la enseñanza de la competencia escrita se refiere y propone para ello una interesante alternativa. Steve Bowkett vuelve la vista atrás para recordarnos cómo la educación recibida en su infancia contribuyó a afianzar, si no desarrollar, el tan conocido miedo a la hoja en blanco. Ese y otros recuerdos son los que lo han animado a proponerse como objetivo armar a los docentes de las estrategias necesarias para conseguir que la enseñanza deje de anular nuestra creatividad innata y empiece a aprovecharla.Así, define la creatividad en la escritura como la capacidad de establecer conexiones nuevas entre diferentes conceptos y adoptar una perspectiva múltiple al analizar una secuencia de ideas. Es decir, ser capaz de ver con diferentes ojos un mismo escenario. Sólo así conseguiremos producir pensamientos originales que nos permitan disfrutar de ese momento ¡Eureka! que se produce cuando por fin nuestras ideas toman forma.Claro que, como bien señala el autor, de nada serviría ser creativo si la riqueza del contenido de la historia no se acompaña de un correcto uso de las convenciones del género, de la forma y del estilo, algo para lo que también nos ofrece recursos a lo largo del libro.Se trata de acabar con la idea de que para escribir historias lo que hace falta es pensar mucho. Al contrario, lo que se necesita es desarrollar una serie de competencias que solo se pueden alcanzar cuando los aprendices se sienten inmersos en una actividad para ellos motivadora y atractiva, que permita que poco a poco el alfabetismo surja de un modo tan lúdico como natural. Un alfabetismo que el autor no entiende ya como la simple habilidad para leer y escribir, sino como la capacidad de apropiarse del lenguaje, jugar con él, ponerlo a prueba, desafiarlo y, finalmente, emplearlo para dar...
