Problematizar e respeitar as diferenças deve ser um ponto crucial para o fazer antropológico. Lila Abu-Lughod (2018) evidencia que um olhar posicionado não anula que nos perguntemos como podemos examinar nossas próprias responsabilidades pelas situações em que nossa população e as de outros países e lugares vivem. Um olhar posicionado deve pensar em um mundo mais justo para os vários "outros" que são submetidos a sofrimentos em meio à globalização. Seguindo os escritos de Donna Haraway (1995), a alternativa possível ao relativismo são saberes situados, localizáveis, críticos, apoiados em redes de conexão e solidariedade política. A conduta do antropólogo, para Alexandra Barbosa da Silva (2015), não deve ser rotulada como "militância", mas deve ser entendida como uma atuação profissional que é desenvolvida com base em uma formação de longo prazo, a partir de teorias verificáveis e que são construídas pela pesquisa empírica. Como nos lembra Claudia Fonseca (2010), a ética em pesquisa na Antropologia deve levar em conta que fazemos ciência de um modo diferente de outras áreas, partindo de uma pesquisa com humanos. Isso muda o caráter de nossa produção. A Antropologia e o fazer antropológico devem ser, antes de tudo, posicionados.Fazer Antropologia requer tempo. Tempo que é permeado por discussões, questionamentos e encontros com trajetórias distintas. É um trabalho feito paulatinamente, quase artesanalmente, no qual geralmente se encontram também diferentes lutas. Em relação as normas de conduta, o código de ética da Associação Brasileira de Antropologia (ABA) diz que "os direitos dos antropólogos devem estar subordinados aos direitos das populações que são objeto de pesquisa e têm como contrapartida as responsabilidades inerentes ao exercício da atividade científica" (ABA, 2012, p. 1). Tal ponto reforça o trabalho político que deve ser intrínseco ao nosso fazer. Desde 2018 muitos de nós vimos a eleição de Jair Bolsonaro e a ascensão de seu governo com apreensão e medo do que viria.
