The aim of the study is to develop the multimedia learning based on scientific literacy for junior high school students on the theme of technology. Moreover, the study was also done to examine the effectiveness of the multimedia in enhancing students' scientific literacy. Multimedia in science learning can create more meaningful learning process, so the vision of scientific literacy can be achieved. This study used research and development (R&D) methods with ADDIE design (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). The stage of analysis, design, and development are a development stage of multimedia learning based on scienctific literacy. The implementation and evaluation stage are the stage of implementation multimedia in science teaching in SMP Cimahi. Multimedia learning based on scienctific literacy on the theme of technology has a design that adapts to the scientific literacy from PISA, there are context domain, competence of science domain and scientific knowledge domain. The use of multimedia learning based on scienctific literacy can enhance students' scienctific literacy for 65,64%. In the competence of science domain for 62.35%, scientific knowledge domain for 57.02% and students attitude toward for 60,12%.
Among three levels of chemical representation, the sub-microscopic level is the most difficult to learn by students. To solve the problem, it is assumed that the concept of the discontinuous nature of matter or particle concept should be mastered initially by students before they learn sub-microscopic representations of further chemical phenomena. 131 junior high school students from two schools participated in this study. The study was carried out by implementing structureoriented chemistry teaching on the particle concept that was assisted by the courseware and was continued by teaching the changing state of matter. The research instruments were written tests, questionnaire, observation sheet and interview guideline. Research data were collected before and after the use of the courseware, as well as before and after the teaching of the changing states of matter. The results show that the use of the courseware increases students' understanding of the particle concept for both male and female groups. Meanwhile, particle concept only affects the students' understanding of sub-microscopic representations of the changing states of matter in general and based on gender.
The study aims to determine the effect of integration of educational robotics in STEM learning to promote students’ collaborative skills. Collaborative skills can be developed by implementing learning strategies that lead to learning activities as hands-on activities, technology engagement, and teamwork between students. These learning activities can be covered by integrated educational robotics in STEM learning. The descriptive method with a quantitative approach was applied in this research with 36 ten-grade students as subject research. The teacher team observed students’ collaborative skills before and after the implementation of STEM-Robotic learning. The observation using the instrument that developed based on indicators of collaborative skills activities. Collaborative skills activities consist of participation, perspective-taking, and social regulation. The results showed that STEM-Robotic learning can promote students’ collaborative skills in participation aspects by 55.93%, perspective-taking aspects by 56.03%, and social regulation aspects by 67.34%. The results indicate that STEM-Robotic learning is an alternative learning strategy that can be implemented to develop 21st-century skills, especially collaborative skills.
Penulisan artikel ini bertujuan untuk memaparkan hasil analisis berupa kajian literatur pada hasil penelitian mengenai media pembelajaran IPA berbasis komputer yang digunakan untuk menigkatkan literasi sains siswa. Literatur review dilakukan pada 10 artikel yang dipublikasikan pada berbagai jurnal dari tahun 2015 sampai 2020. Literatur review dilakukan dengan 4 langkah yaitu melakukan pencarian dan penyeleksian artikel yang berkaitan dengan topik yang sudah ditentukan, melakukan analisis dan sintesis literatur, dan melakukan organisasi tulisan. Hasil kajian pustaka dan analisisnya menunjukkan bahwa: 1) bentuk media pembelajaran berbasis komputer yang digunakan dalam pembelajaran IPA untuk meningkatkan literasi sains terdiri dari berbagai bentuk, yaitu multimedia pembelajaran, interaktif E-book, E-modul, video animasi, dan media berbasis android. 2) Penggunaan media berbasis komputer pada pembelajaran IPA memberikan dampak pada peningkatan kemampuan literasi sains siswa. Hasil tersebut menunjukkan bahwa media berbasis komputer dapat dikembangkan dalam berbagai bentuk media dan memberikan peran dalam meningkatkan literasi sains siswa pada pembelajaran IPA.
