Extracts obtained from the leaves of Annona muricata, Ficus polita, LuJa aegyptiaca, Momordica charantia and Newbouldia laevis and from the twigs and leaves of Moringa pterygospenna were screened for antimalarial action against Plasmodium falciparum cultured in vitro. AU six extracts were found to inhibit the growth of P . falciparum in a dose-dependent manner. The IC, values vaned from 12.6 pg/mL for Newbouldia laevis to 68.4 pg/mL for Momordica charantia.
