We have established an upper limit of 2.6 p b on the cross section times branching ratio for n+p-Bnc,++ at a center-of-mass energy of 4.51 GeV. An upper limit of 1.4 pb is quoted for n+p -6 'C,+ +, C,+ + -+Co+nf. We estimate that the b OC,~ + decay modes investigated are 15 % of the total combined hadronic decays.
A partial-wave analysis of the charged three-pion system in the reaction n-p -p~+x-nfor incident a-momenta from 5 to 25 GeV/c shows the existence of a broad enhancement (-300 MeV) in the J~ = 2-f n (S-wave) state in the region of the A3(1G50). No other state ( J C 4) shows structure in this region. Upper bounds for pa and € a decay modes of the AS are given. The interference of the 2 -f a (S-wave) amplitude with other amplitudes has been observed. The mass variation of the phase of the 2f n (S-wave) amplitude measured with respect to the phases of other amplitudes does not show the behavior expected for the relative phase between resonant and nonresonant amplitudes. Results are given on the polarization and momentum-transfer dependence of the Ag and on the Ag production cross section as a function of incident n-momentum.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
