The article presents results of theoretical studies on development and calculation of a root crop grinder. A mathematical description of the process of movement of cutting elements and feed particles in a cylinder-type root crop grinder with a vertical location of the cylinder is presented. Dependencies between design and operating parameters of the developed root crop grinder were obtained. The research results can be used in development of root crop grinders for preparation of root crops for cattle, pig and poultry feeding.
The article is devoted to the study of the root crop grinder, its design and design features are presented. The calculation of the forces which act upon the crushed feed during operation of the developed grinder was carried out. Formulae for calculation of geometric dimensions of the drum of the grinding unit, the hopper and the cutting elements are given, as well as the throughput capacity of the grinder. The research results can be used for development of root crop grinders which prepare root crops for feeding of farm animals.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
