This paper introduces the concept and architecture for access network multiconnectivity (ANMC),Mobile IP (MIP) and other tunnel-based solutions such as GPRS Tunnel Protocol (GTP), defined to offer "intra-system" and "inter-system" mobility behind the fixed IP anchor. While this approach relieves corresponding nodes of much of the burden associated with changes in the access network, it also deprives applications of information they can use to adapt service delivery to the constraints associated with the current access network connectivity technology and
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
