Various metrological aspects for the correct measurements of electrical energy that is consumed by energy-saving (mainly LED) single phase loads are discussed in this paper. One of the most important problems presented here concerns the question of how strong distortions of the current waveform, introduced by typical LED lighting, affects the operation of electronic energy meters. Measurement results for the energy consumption of different LED lamps used in households in various conditions, alongside comparative results that were obtained by electronic and electromechanical energy meters, were also offered and the appropriate conclusions were then drawn.
This study presents the operation basis of GPS global positioning system and augmentation systems used to increase positioning accuracy. Furthermore, selected measurement results for an EGNOS-augmented GPS receiver positioning are included along with an analysis of GIS measurements accuracy, performed using dierential corrections. This analysis takes into consideration the impact of the number of measurement series and satellite constellation on the accuracy of positioning achieved in praxis using the EGNOS system.
This paper presents a brief overview of the current state-of-the-art of Josephson junctions for Quantum-based Voltage Standards fabricated with High-Temperature Superconductors (HTS). A short introduction on the history and technical evolution of Low Temperature Superconductors (LTS) technology is provided for non-specialists. Then HTS technology is summarized and discussed in the context of quantum voltage standard applications. Finally, the two most promising technologies: bicrystal and Focused Helium-Ion Beam junctions are discussed with more detail, analyzing strength, limitations and perspectives in both cases.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
