Until 2021, in Russia youth is the population aged 15 to 29 years old, which is forming the labor potential of the country. Currently, the share of young people is 15% of the total population of Russia. This group is not homogeneous. It includes students of the secondary education system, and students of the vocational education system, and young professionals. This article analyzes how young people enter the labor market, what are the characteristics of their work, what is the participation of specialists, who have received a diploma of vocational education, in work, how the period of the coronavirus pandemic has affected the labor market and youth employment. The purpose of this study is to analyze the characteristics of youth employment in modern Russia and identify promising options for gaining experience while combining work with education.
