Palavras-chave: ecofisiologia, controle químico, tolerância, sombra.ABSTRACT -Weeds maintained in reduced light intensity environments present remarkable morphophysiological changes that may alter their reproductive behavior and tolerance to post-emergence herbicides. Our goal was to evaluate the efficiency of glyphosate doses in the management of Commelina benghalensis and Cyperus rotundus grown at different levels of shading. The work consisted of two trials for each species with the same experimental design, in a 5 x 3 factorial design with five herbicide doses (0, 540, 810, 1.080, and 1.350 g ha -1 of glyphosate), three cultivation environments (0, 30, or 50% of shading) and four replicates. Experimental plots consisted of a vase with two plants of either C. benghalensis or C. rotundus. Control evaluations were carried out 10, 20, and 30 days after application (DAA) through visual observations. Tuber productivity was verified by direct counting of these propagules present in the roots of C. rotundus plants, while tuber viability was evaluated by germination test in a sand bed, and by tetrazolium, for the nongerminated tubers. The objective of this work was to analyze the floristic variation and phytosociological structure of weeds as influenced by relief and time of year in eucalyptus plantations in Santana do Paraíso and Guanhães - MG. The total area sampled for each locality was approximately 10 ± 3 hectares, comprising three types of relief: lowland, slope, and upper area. In each type of relief, 10 plots of 1 m² were sampled, corresponding to 30 plots per locality, where they were randomly allocated in a zigzag. The taxonomic identification was performed in four assessments, corresponding to the months of November and March, comprising two ratings each season, always at the same points, and geo-referenced using the Global Positioning System (GPS). A total of 3,893 individuals, 18 families and 61 species, were identified in Santana do Paraiso and a total of 1,166 individuals, 13 families and 58 species, in Guanhães. In both localities, the most representative families in terms of wealth were: Poaceae, Asteraceae, and Fabaceae. Galinsoga parviflora was the most abundant species. The Vernonia polyantes was identified only in the lowlands, while Arrabida florida was identified in the slope and upper area. On the other hand, Emilia coccinea, Sida rhombifolia, S. paniculatum and Spermacoce latifolia were common to all three environments. Commelina benghalensis was present only in the month of March, while G. parviflora was present only in the month of November. It was concluded that the floristic and phytosociological variation of weeds in eucalyptus plantations is influenced by the type of relief and time of year, which should guide the management practices used in the culture.
Contudo, o maior efeito é observado em polpa contendo alto percentual de finos e pequena quantidade de cal. palavras-chave: Filtragem; Coagulantes; Minério de ferro. coagUlants addition for filtering performance maintenance abstractSlurry stability is an important parameter in the iron ore filtering process. Lime, which is added to the slurry pumping system, confers the necessary agglomeration to maintain the desired productivity, mainly when solids have high amount of fines. Coagulants were evaluated in the laboratory to measure their effects in filtration behavior. Different reagents and conditions, such as fines amount and lime dosage, are tested. More than one reagent yielded very similar and good results. Moisture content in the cake increased beyond an optimum dosage. Coagulant addition yielded good results in all test conditions. However, the highest effect is observed with slurry containing higher fine amounts and low lime dosage.
