The article describes three Pterophoridae species new to science, from Ethiopia: Platyptilia anjuta Ustjuzhanin & Kovtunovich sp. nov., Platyptilia roberti Ustjuzhanin & Kovtunovich sp. nov. and Stenoptilia monikae Ustjuzhanin & Kovtunovich sp. nov. We give new faunal data on the distribution of the species previously unknown for Ethiopia.

Mount Cameroon, SW Cameroon, has already been described as a unique hotspot of the many-plumed moth (Lepidoptera, Alucitidae), with their local diversity unrivalled in the entire Afrotropics. We confirm its importance with description of seven new species: Alucita bakweri Ustjuzhanin & Kovtunovich, sp. nov., Alucita jana Ustjuzhanin & Kovtunovich, sp. nov., Alucita bakingili Ustjuzhanin & Kovtunovich, sp. nov., Alucita tatjana Ustjuzhanin & Kovtunovich, sp. nov., Alucita zuza Ustjuzhanin & Kovtunovich, sp. nov., Alucita deja Ustjuzhanin & Kovtunovich, sp. nov., and Alucita bokwango Ustjuzhanin & Kovtunovich, sp. nov. These descriptions have raised the known local diversity of many-plumed moth species on Mount Cameroon to 22, i.e., over a quarter of the known Afrotropical biodiversity of this group. This study also emphasises the great conservation importance of the area.

The article gives a complete list of Pterophoridae species known from the Republic of Guinea. Three species, Exelastis crudipennis (Meyrick, 1932), Sphenarches erythrodactylus (Fletcher, 1911) and Hellinsia aethiopicus (Amsel, 1963) are reported for the fauna of this country for the first time.

The plume moths (Lepidoptera, Pterophoridae) fauna of Paraguay is studied quite well, which is proved by a series of publications (Gielis, 2003, 2006, 2012, 2013; Ustjuzhanin et al., 2016). However, we have found two species of the genus Hellinsia, new to science, in the supplementary materials provided to us by Ulf Drechsel (Asunción).

Basing on the materials from Russian entomological expedition to Jujuy Province, North-Western Argentina, the participants of which were working in Ecoportal de Piedra National Park, 22 Pterophoridae species have been revealed, two of which, Emmelina doroshkini Ustjuzhanin & Kovtunovich sp. n. and E. reshetnikovi Ustjuzhanin & Kovtunovich sp. n., turned to be new to Science. Six more species, Bipunctiphorus nigroapicalis (Landry & Gielis, 1992), Stenoptilodes brevipennis (Zeller, 1874), S. taprobanes (Felder & Rogenhofer, 1875), Lioptilodes cuzcoicus Gielis, 1996, Adaina zephyria Barnes & Lindsey, 1921, and Hellinsia mauleicus (Gielis, 1991) have been indicated for Argentina for the first time, and eleven more species, Postplatyptilia flinti Gielis, 1991, Stenoptilodes sematodactyla (Berg, 1885), Lioptilodes aguilaicus Gielis, 1991, Oidaematophorus pseudotrachyphloeus Gielis, 2011, Singularia carabayus (Arenberger, 1990), Hellinsia angulofuscus (Gielis, 1991), H. chalupi Gielis, 2013, H. grandaevus (Meyrick, 1931), and H. tacanasensis Gielis, 2013 have been indicated for Jujuy Province for the first time. One species of the genus Singularia has not been identified on a unique female.
