Die durch Kondensationen des gemischten Anhydrids (I) (erhalten aus Chloressigsäure und Keten) mit den Thiosemicarbazonen (II) erhaltenen Hydrazone (III) werden durch basenkatalysierte Reaktionen mit p‐Alkoxybenzaldehyden in die Arylidenhydrazone (IV) und (V) übergefuhrt.
Bei der Reaktion der Semicarbazone (I) mit dem Anhydrid (II) in Aceton oder Äthanol in Gegenwart von Pyridin entstehen in 77 bzw. 68%iger Ausbeute die Thiazolidone (III).
